Banger of a Friday for me
-
Likelihood of Neck Deep appearing? Sounds like they have lots of plans this year but nothing announced yet
-
Green Day and Neck Deep today. Both decent

First time seeing Chemical Brothers on Friday in Birmingham. Really good set, think maybe they could have trimmed a couple out of the middle but nice to see a real mix of old and new working well together. Visuals were insane. One thing I wondered was what are the 2 brothers actually doing up on stage? It doesn’t seem like anything is actually being done live, especially for how well it syncs to the visuals

Thanks! Just after I sent that I got a separate email saying I'd already registered for presale 👍

Can anyone find a no purchase necessary sign up for Green Day pre sale? Had a quick look and couldn't see one.

Think I have settled on having a year off in 2024. Was going to try for tickets then decide whether we go later based on the line up but with deposit being £75, so for 2 of us that's potentially £150 down the pan. Reasons being getting married end of May, then honeymooning until mid June so lots of expense and time off work, and also the headliner names being thrown around aren't drawing me in too much. I know when its on I will have major FOMO. Still going to be trying on ticket day for my mate who sorted me out last year so still get that Sunday morning excitement

Tom Misch disco project Supershy debut album out today. Beauty

I get the whole idea of using your status to make a point but realistically it’s not going to change anything over there. If you don’t agree with laws in a country then don’t go there - exactly the same as people who expect everyone who visits the UK to follow our laws.

Impressive as they started their set with a song released on 2 May 2023. Such a consistently good live band and great way to get the festival Friday started

Had such a good time in Cardiff, it was the first time I’ve done a gig solo but I thought I’d missed my chance to see pulp live after their split in 2012 so couldn’t miss them this time. Nice treat to have the second encore after seeing they’ve only been doing 16 songs at their latest few shows. Also jumps straight into my top 5 gigs ever!

Would love Greenday to headline. Blink are so poor live, but a part of me would absolutely love to see them play and open with family reunion on the pyramid.

New one from Tom Misch’s side project

May be a controversial take but hate seeing young kids, even some babies that can’t be more than a few months old being carried or dragged around site, especially busy areas in glaring sun just so their parents can two step to some heavy drum and bass. Feels very selfish, the kids are mostly not enjoying it. Either find childcare or take a year off.

Going to watch back Nova Twins, one of my sets of the weekend. Really heavy guitars, great vocals and cool visuals. Also the one time we got a bit of cloud cover for a whole set!

I was near the back right of the field. Great view of the screens and crowd but sound was quite poor with echoes from the drums making it all sound a bit out of sync. Still glad we went to see Elton but was definitely one where you could see from screens and tv footage that it looked a lot more fun down the front. Was a bit conflicted as I also love QOTSA and Alt J and would have been amazing to see them with such small crowds

Just sound checked snap out of it, crying lightning and teddy picker. It’s on
-
Yeah that’s their backdrop and mirrorball

Got to the queue for gate A at 8am which was backed up to car park 32. Slow progress the whole way but didn’t stop for more than a minute at a time. Got to Hitchin Hill at 11am and just got pitched before the rain hit

Ritz to the rubble tonight. Glasto setlist could be insane
-
And they start with Brianstorm, id feel a bit hard done by unless there’s a surprise later on
-
Lovely surprise opening with a certain romance on Sheffield night 1, thinking they could open with when the sun goes down tonight. Then hopefully play both at glastonbury

Im seeing 3 from His n Hers, 8 from Different Class, 4 from This is Hardcore, 3 from We Love Life and one single. It will be interesting to see if they change it up at all, would have liked some more from His n Hers and maybe a couple from Separations but it will be my first time seeing them in Cardiff (if not at Glastonbury) so my ideal setlist would be 30+ songs!

Not sure if this has been discussed without scrolling back but latest poster from QOTSA still has the gap. Surely nailed on for the Sunday other stage? Released with the final poster end of May.

Have had what I consider to be pretty solid info earlier today that the 1975 will be playing the festival in 2024. No clarity on what position but I can only assume headliner
