  1. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

This might be of interest to a few of you.
  2. Latitude 2018

    How could I forget!
  3. Latitude 2018

There are 5 stages dedicated purely to music: Obelisk, BBC, Sunrise, Alcove and BBC Introducing. Then the Film and Music tent will play host to a few acts as well as talks and films. Theatre, comedy, cabaret and speakeasy all have their own dedicated stages. As far as I'm aware 5 music stages is about standard for festivals of a similar size.
  4. Predictions for 2018

King Gizz are very visual and high energy in comparison with the other two. From what I gather they tried to get a female headliner but it didn't work out.
  5. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

  6. Predictions for 2018

I agree and I think Gizz would fall into that category. They seemed pretty in awe at the amount of people at the Brixton show. Festivals that champion up and comers are a great thing and it should continue!
  7. Predictions for 2018

I dunno... they sold out Brixton and a string of other UK/Europe shows in large theater type venues. Pretty sure that would make them big enough to headline EOTR and Green Man.
  8. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

Yeah its strange cause Ty and Oh Sees are also super prolific. I think Gizz are just more accessible than them, the variety in the material they put out means they appeal to a lot of different people. Ty and Oh Sees are great but I don't think they change up their sound/experiment (at least compared to Gizz) enough to receive widespread recognition, as great as they are. I think the '5 albums in one year' has probably helped get them noticed more too.
  9. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

Headline slot at Green Man for the boys. On to huge things and rightly so, most hard working band around and incredible live. They deserve all the success they get and stand as a precedent for DIY music making.
  10. Queens Of The Stone Age @ Finsbury Park

His debut (Colour of the Trap) is ace, most of the songs from it were co-written with Alex Turner. He only has two studio albums so there isn't too much for you to work through, but start with Colour of the Trap! Yeah I'm really shocked, its a steal for the caliber of acts that are on. Going to be a big one for sure!
  11. Queens Of The Stone Age @ Finsbury Park

What a day this is gonna be! Chuffed with Miles being added.
  12. Latitude 2018

They've changed up how they usually announce this year so its anyone's guess when we get the next announcement.
  13. Lineup 2018

I don't think I've ever heard Lost Village be referred to as a rock festival...
  14. Latitude 2018

Weekend didn't sell out last year or the year before as far as I'm aware. Only Saturday tickets sold out last year. I think you will be safe for a while.
  15. Latitude 2018

Thinking that MGMT could slot in nicely under Alt-J on the Sunday, schedules allow too.
  16. Latitude 2018

Just an average going off of previous years, give or take a few probably, but there's definitely more to come.
  17. Latitude 2018

Yeah there is plenty more to come yet, looking at another 7 or so acts on the main stage and over 10 more acts for the BBC stage. Not to mention the Sunrise and Lake Stage which both have barely any acts on at the moment. Its been confirmed that there will be a special guest again this year and I've got a feeling its going to be Chic W/ Nile Rogers as they will be around. You'll have a great time regardless, there is loads to discover even if there aren't many names pulling you in at the moment.
  18. Lineup 2018

That is vile, no wonder it took them so long to announce it, they must have been embarrassed!
  19. Latitude 2018

yeah quite a lot more going on previous years
  20. Latitude 2018

I cant comment on how it was years ago but I totally get your point. I just think in the grand scheme of things, there are much worse festivals you could attend for noisy and obnoxious teens.
  21. Latitude 2018

I'd argue that The 1975, Mumford and Sons and Fatboy Slim may have bought the calibre of clientele that you refer to but I didn't notice a huge shift in the demographic last year. I think this line up is a great all rounder, plenty there for all tastes which maintains a nice diverse crowd.
  22. Latitude 2018

They're both run by Festival Republic but I don't reckon both the line ups will be released on the same day, doesn't really make much sense from a marketing perspective. My guess is this Monday coming for R and L and the following Monday for Latitude.
  23. Latitude 2018

Most of these that you mention are viable for the festival. Hoping for many of them myself but am preparing for disappointment haha!
  24. Latitude 2018

So Longitude have gone fully urban? Cant see Latitude sharing many of those acts... maybe Solange and Sampha?
  25. Latitude 2018

True but Latitude don't share many/any acts with Big Weekend looking at the past few years. Don't reckon its gonna be James Bay and hopefully not Snow Patrol either.
