  1. I may be wrong , but I reckon 32 acts from the initial line up release still need to be allocated to stages , assuming they are on the Pyramid or Other that leaves 13 slots to be filled on those stages based on there being 45 slots on them last year .
  2. I was/am convinced she will play, she has just announced some dates recently so maybe she asked to be held back so as not to affect ticket sales for her own shows. I am sure she is playing in Greece the same weekend which could impact on her playing
  3. And people going to see GnR will presumably do the same
  4. They probably would ( maybe not A Forest which was only a minor hit or Pictures of You , which is my favourite by the way ) so I’d say the average person that night knew at best 7-8 songs that they played . Not a lot really . I thought they were superb that night , but lots of people around my hardly knew any of the songs until the end
  5. Pretty sure Depeche Mode played Abu Dhabi after a Grand Prix there
  6. Throw in a couple of covers such as Live and Let Die , Knocking on Heavens Door and Whole lotta Rosie and you've got a belter of set in my opinion
  7. I'm a fan of both GnR and Metallica but suspect the average Glastonbury goer will know more GnR songs than Metallica ones. Appetite for Destruction is one of the biggest selling albums of all time so although not singles , songs like It's So Easy , Rocket Queen and Mr Brownstone are problem reasonably well known. The same can be said to a lesser extent with Use Your Illusions 1 & 2 . I'd suggest the average Glastonbury Pyramid headline fan will be aware of more GnR songs than not just Metallica but also The Cure , Arcade Fire and possibly many more headliners. Oh and how can fans of GnR be stuck in 1981 when they weren't even formed then . Like them or loathe them , they're a worthy headliner.
  8. It could be argued the fans of quite a few headliners are stuck back in a certain age as let's face it , a large number of headliners are way beyond releasing their best material . The Who, The Stones, The Cure , McCartney, the Killers, Coldplay , Foo Fighters , Radiohead etc.
  9. Blondie tour dates - been discussed as possible Legends slots on that thread , I don’t see that myself although given the iconic status she has and number of hits, maybe she should be , more of an acoustic stage headliner for me .
  10. I was chatting to a close relative of one them ( I won’t say which one so as not to embarrass them )and in short , it’s not financially worth them playing.
  11. Takes from The Undertones official website - Acoustic Stage self confirmed
