  1. No necessarily easy or best way of doing it, but most important thing is that everyone is crystal clear on what to do if they get through so you don't end up with some duplication. In 14/15/16 we had a group of 12 made from 6 couples. 2014 we all got tickets, 2015 just the guys got tickets and in 2016 just the girls got tickets. Always winners and losers however you do it.
  2. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ct8yzRmAUKh/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng%3D%3D Slightly different perspective from another of the pilots, there's more in the comments about how it came to happen too, and he's got a Story Highlights with some more footage and the Capaldi moment. (I was watching Lewis Capaldi).
  3. I was about to share this one, excellent work. There was also one which just said "Ludicrously capacious flag" on it which was good.
  4. Avalon was too busy to enjoy each time I tried this year. Always have a great time at the Bread & Roses when I go, saw Duo in there this year on Thurs pm who were excellent, and the TapHouse was excellent purely for offering some shade and beer and seating when it was needed most.
  5. Shouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to have something like - a jazz club - a cheesy indie tent (like WG) - a metal/rock tent - classical music / chillout area - late night comedy/cabaret And still 3 zillion other places for drum n bass around the site.
  6. I remember the first time I went in 2013 we were wondering about aimlessly on the wed or Thu and went through some doors and ended up in some mental indoor version of heaven sitting on a white fluffy cloud surrounded by people with their shoes off. Not seen or been into any of that kind of experiential art since then, not sure if it's all too busy or doesn't exist any longer. there does definitely need to be more provision of late night action across the site. SE corner is full of cool stuff, but Silver Hayes and Williams Green/it's replacement need to put things in which hoover up crowds and make the SE corner more accessible and interesting again.
  7. Mentioned this in another thread. Have done WV 3 times now, it is excellent on the whole. No hassle with parking (or leaving), quick entry, tent already there and 2 mins from the car park, flushing loos and excellent showers. But, unless you use loos & showers pre 8am or after 11.30am, there's enormous queues. Also not enough food & drink provision, particularly between those times. Bit weird having the pizza business there, given times when people are at WV. By day 2 or 3 they were opening at 8am for breakfast pizzas, one of which I had. They just need to work with traders to have more available at breakfast time, maybe close 12-8 during the day or have a skeleton offering and then have something back for people coming home in the evenings. The traders were all either absolutely slammed or twiddling thumbs, not that useful for anyone. Need more showers and loos.
  8. They're so good at what they do. Top fun. Looked back at 2013 pics after and turns out I was in the identical spot in front of the stage this year too.
  9. The Club de Fromage setup in Williams green was badly missed this year too.
  10. Was my 5th time this year, and don't remember ever shedding a tear at the previous 4. This year it felt like I barely stopped crying. Grohl when he was talking about Taylor Hawkins Lewis Capaldi, first the song for his aunt, then when he fell apart at the end Cat Stevens Father & Son Badly Drawn Boy talking about the death of his brother a couple of years ago and dedicating a song to him. Elton a couple of times. I was an emotional wreck. Just me?
  11. Only takes one look at how much it costs to see one gig at the O2 to realise how much of a bargain it is. It'd sell out in the same time if it was £500 a ticket, it would just quickly start to become unaffordable for increasing numbers of honest fans which would be a shame.
  12. Left our 2. 5yr old with the grandparents this time, and was glad we did. Would have loved to have her parachuted in for the Sunday, but 5 days seemed a bit much. But whilst we were there, seeing so many toddlers having a great time, we'll definitely take her along next year if we get tickets. Some of the modified trolleys were spectacular too, particularly the ones turned into rockets for EJ!
  13. Had no idea about what he'd been through at the time, it felt special in the crowd nonetheless. Watched his Netflix documentary last night, gave me all the context. Man's a proper hero, hope he gets well soon.
  14. true, particularly with how good that Dancing in the Dark/LCD Soundsystem mashup was in 2015, probably my favourite ever live performance that.
  15. Rick Astley gets every step on the podium for me.
