    The Strokes?

I agree. They could have used a bit more volume early in the set but I have no real complaints. Julian's humour goes straight over the heads of some people, he doesn't need help, he's just having fun. Some of those Twitter people definitely need an intervention though. As for the girl getting on stage, it only happened because the crowd were cheering for it when she held her sign up. Julian was reluctant at first. I didn't begrudge her 5 minutes of fame. I heard a couple of people complaining because 'Last Nite' wasn't played. I didn't miss it, I prefer 'The Modern Age' and 'Hard To Explain' from the first album. A delayed train meant I arrived 2 hours later than planned so I was going through the gate as Wet Leg were playing Chaise Longue. I've seen them 3 times in small venues in the last 10 months so I wasn't too bothered. I boycotted the bars. Sainsbury's gained what the festival lost. I ended the night in Blackpool Bootleg Social, £3.50 a pint!
  2. That used to be the place I mostly used too but it's gone now. 3000 more tickets sold this year but no extra toilet provision. Making the urinals double-up to use each side of the fencing would be a big help to stop pollution. The guys on the outside of the fence are not worried about being seen.
  3. I came back with a punctured air mattress, now repaired with superglue and gorilla tape. I think a zip on my jacket sleeve was to blame.
  4. From the 2020 poster : Anna Calvi, Laura Marling, London Grammar, Jehnny Beth, Happy Mondays. Wishlist: PJ Harvey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, The Strokes, New Order, Belle & Sebastian, IST IST, Sunflower Bean, Bodega, Portishead, A Certain Ratio, Sink Ya Teeth, PINS, Goat, Nick Cave, Barry Adamson, Nation Of Language, Sharon Van Etten, Nine Inch Nails, Gustaf, Gilla Band, Half Man Half Biscuit. Comedy: Jerry Sadowitz
  5. There was a big audience for Oxide Ghosts. I got there 20 minutes early and it wasn't long before the queue almost reached the acoustic tent. You would still have got in but I don't think I've seen so many in the cinema before. I've seen OG 3 times now. It's essential viewing for Morris fans. My regrets? I never made it to the Avalon stage. I couldn't summon the energy to trek up to the Park for Cate Le Bon and Caroline Polachek. I forgot to visit the Pier. Apart from that it was all good. 🙂

    The Strokes?

I'm looking forwards to Lytham, I only found out yesterday that Wet Leg and The Lounge Society have been added. A word of warning about bar prices, they're charging £6.50 for a pint of weak Carlsberg and £6.80 for cider.
  7. My ticket arrived a couple of weeks ago, 2 days after the despatch email. It's the earliest festival ticket delivery I've ever had.
  8. Last night I just booked a ticket to travel on Thursday 23rd, thinking strikes were being put off for a while. For anyone in the same position this is from Transpennine Express: "If you are unable to complete your planned journey or choose not to travel due to industrial action, your ticket will be valid for travel on the preceding or following day."
