  1. Yeah I've advocated The Chems to get another Pyramid slot for a long time now. One of the best live acts in the world, one of the best electronic acts in history, great friends of the festival and who, according to Emily, pulled a crowd of 200,000 to the Pyramid in 2000. I get that the Pyramid has changed a bit and the need for diversity and equality etc. I agree with all that, but it looks unlikely we'll ever see an act like that on the Pointy stage again and that's a pity if so. Not many electronic acts have the visual show for the Pyramid but they do. It's incredible.
  2. Roisin did look really good from the TV coverage. She's got great stage presence. That was a bad clash. Annoyed I missed her.
  3. Yeah indoor lends itself well to these shows. I found Disclosure at Primavera a bit boring in all honesty.
  4. Other Stage headliners yeah, assuming the next album doesn't see a noticeable drop in popularity. Didn't Disclosure headline the Other Stage? There's no comparison between them and Bicep IMO. Bicep light years ahead as a live act with the huge light show to boot.
  5. It was magic. Earlier on Sunday I was struggling a bit but that was an epic finale to the main stages.
  6. Headliners like Sigur Ros, Sister Sledge / Chaka Khan and Leftfield next year would be nice Mr Kerridge please
  7. At least it means badgers aren't standing in the way. AC/DC on the Pyramid would be seriously good craic. Love the idea.
  8. Returning: Stevie Wonder New: Roger Waters / Idles Never: Eurythmics / Creedence Clearwater Revival
  9. That would be way too dangerous IMO. Would cause a potentially massive security issue. I can only imagine how bad Arcadia would've been had they turned up for their DJ set.
  10. Could easily imagine Sigur Ros on the West Holts. Reckon I'd enjoy that a lot. And if Doves are back touring, health issues permitting, get them on the bill. Not sure what stage. Maybe the Other slot taken by Supergrass this year.
  11. I was surprised at just how good St Vincent was. I've seen her before with David Byrne but this was very different and I really enjoyed it. It added to what was an epic run on Friday from Confidence Man to Foals via Supergrass, Idles, St Vincent and Khruangbin.
  12. Did anyone make it into the Funkingham Palace for Greg Wilson, Four Tet and Nick Warren on Thursday night? I regret missing that but the queue was a bit of a joke so can't complain that others in the group decided against it. Between that and the crowd at Sasha being too big and a bit dodgy (plus the sound being crap) it was an annoying couple of hours.
  13. Yeah I'll get a chance to watch the set this week without being too pissed off hopefully 😄
  14. Yeah we all have a few each year mate. I'm pretty raging at missing Herbie because we couldn't get the girls in the group ready to go on time. Should've just went on ahead. Regret missing Fontaines for Diana Ross but can always we them on tour later in the year. And regret not going to Digweed on Friday night because my feet were absolutely fucked. That was pathetic. Should've spent more time at IICON too. That place is pretty mental. I loved Foals by the way 😅
  15. The bag check for WV this year was pretty much non-existent. We walked in Wednesday around 2pm without any queue. Car to tent in 15 minutes including getting wristbands etc. We all commented on how easy it was this time and how the checks had all but disappeared.

Great set. Seemed to be much the same as Primavera but no complaints about that because they were awesome in Barcelona. They obviously left out the anti monarchy chat on the farm but the energy was still there. Definitely one of the best live acts on the planet at the minute. Hope any chat of group tension isn't true. That certainly wasn't evident at Primavera that I could see... or Glasto for that matter. But I was too busy enjoying myself to notice. Slight concern a Pyramid crowd would be wasted on them. But they deserve a crack at the biggest stages.
  17. Having seen them on Saturday night I'll add Sister Sledge to my earlier list. They would go down a treat on the WH or Park.
  18. These would be my 2 alternatives without going as far as Europe. Sziget could be a good option. Budapest is a great city and the lineup can be decent. We went in 2013. You also have the likes of Mad Cool, which tends to get decent lineups, Primavera and Pukkelpop.
  19. From memory it just went off completely. Technical issues I assume. Dennis Pennis came on for a 5-10 minute impromptu set of jokes to keep the crowd from getting too antsy. Thankfully it worked out OK 😅
  20. Would love Annie Lennox to do the legends slot if she could be persuaded.
  21. Bought the CD on the way home from my first Glasto in 97. Think it came out Glasto weekend? Still sounds magnificent. Maybe just shy of Jilted for the range of brilliance, but one of the all time great albums IMO. Pity the sound fucked up on their Pyramid gig.
  22. Big advantages of WV are proximity to the car park, the fact it's set up when you arrive (a big plus when you're flying over), the showers and the quietness at night. There will always be queues for showers at peak times wherever they are. The food options this year seemed more limited without the big tent at the top of the old stepped path up and down to the festival. That said, it was still decent and there was at least one other good food van up near the back. The hill climb would be an issue for some people definitely. I actually found this year's path better than the steps but maybe it could get tricky on a wet year. I find a late stop in Strummerville is perfect before you go up the steps, whether that's for 20 minutes or 3 hours. It's not cheap and the hill may well make Sticklinch a better option for some but I have to say WV has served us well for years. It's also easy to get to from Glastonbury town on arrival day and easy to get back on the road towards the airport.
  23. Tried the Trekology UL80 air bed this year and I have to say it did very well. Packs up small too. Didn't need reinflated at any stage. 40 quid well spent on that basis
