  1. SOAD in 2017 was probably the blandest thing I’ve ever seen. Just not in to it. 2 x Metallica is my cup of tea. Whilst I’m expecting a lot more bands to appease older buggers like me in the next announcement (whenever that will be), I’m also happy to discover new bands as part of DL. That’s part of the enjoyment.
  2. Ivan to leave FFDP. Locked in for next year? https://www.metalrocknews.com/news/five-finger-death-punchs-ivan-moody-announces-retirement-from-the-band/
  3. I thought QOTSA were very disappointing the last time they played DL. Having them on the bill certainly wouldn’t excite me. Also, is it it really the headliners that determine whether people get a ticket or not?? I can understand for a day tkt, but surely the whole weekend is about more than the headliners? Some of the best acts seen/moments I’ve had at DL have not been with the headliners.
  4. Purely judging by the number of people wearing their T-shirts at this years DL, Ghost would go down a storm. They supported Metallica on their last UK tour so hopefully a decent chance? 2 nights of metallica would suit me perfectly, so long as it ISN’T St.Anger in full!! get an orchestra on stage for S&M3 🤘
  5. I did the full 5 days for the first time this. Utterly broken by the Sunday. Thought Massive Wagons were great and sounded so much better for being on a larger stage rather than in a tent. Skindred, as mentioned above, perfect festival band. Not my style of music but put on a great show and pulled a big crowd. Those Damn Crows - loved it. Might not be everyone’s thing but was great for me. Monster Truck - a little disappointed with their set but enjoyed nonetheless. Tried to get in to megadeth but it just didn’t do it. Maybe as I was on the fringe of the crowd and the wind was howling. Maiden- never enjoyed them on the prev 2 times at DL, but I actually thought this was much much better. Watched from the hill. Powerwolf - a new find. Loved it. Volbeat - excellent the Darkness - one of my highlights. Never thought I’d see the Christmas song live. Just good fun. steel Panther felt a little dated, tbh. Highlight was the lady doing sign language - she deserves a fucking medal 🏅 one of my most enjoyable DLs. Bring on next year, whoever the bands will be 🤘
  6. Lots of rumours all weekend on it, but confirmed with the tickets just on sale (arena access only tickets are from thursday). my feet, legs and back are fucked from this weekend. Might need some training before next year (ticket already booked) 20 year anniversary.
  7. My buddy with the camper van cannot go this year, so going with friends that swear by rip every year. as a result, I now need to shift my campervan ticket that I rolled over from 2019!
  8. Park Farm and sleepy hollow. Are they interchangeable as somewhere to camp? Friends already have park farm but only sleepy hollow available. Same price, just next field, but not sure if I’d get blocked in park farm if I got a ticket or not. Any insights??
