  1. Predictions for 2018

Been climbing the line ups since though. Subbed the Park at Glasto last year which isn't a small slot.
  2. 2018 New Music

The UMO Bristol date is the same day as LCD at APE and their London date is the same day as Ezra Furman in Bristol. Really fucking me up there.
  3. 2018 New Music

Hmm, well I am of the opinion that they've never produced a truly great album, just a few brilliant highlights on each. And this one's at the very least consistent with that with tracks like obviously 'Hunybee' but then also great stuff on 'Everyone Acts Crazy Nowadays,' 'Ministry of Alienation' and 'If You're Going To Break Yourself'. And it's not all amazing but I think because it kind of draws on all sides of the band's style it makes a more varied and enjoyable listen.
  4. 2018 New Music

Hey, did you pricks forget to tell me that the UMO album leaked a few days ago or did I just not read the post? Anyway, pleased to report that it's proper good like. Know there was some scepticism about the pre-release tracks but they do work a lot better in context I feel and there's plenty of the funk-pop perfection that people love them for to go around, especially the absolutely gorgeous 'Hunnybee' which was the highlight for me on the first time through. Certainly has potential to be their best record and made a much better first impression that Mutli-Love so gonna keep listening to this thing.
  5. Predictions for 2018

Yessss fuckin gimme. They'd get a big slot though, do we reckon there's room?
  6. All Points East Festival 2018

LCD and Lorde are clearly the best artists there but assuming you mean Cave, it is appealing tbf though I am already seeing St Vincent at EotR which takes a lot of the appeal out there. Would like to see him and Courtney B tho.The amount of top shit spread across 5/6 days of it makes the whole festival a bit of a predicament but considering I don't live in London it makes more sense to just pick one weekend and make it a trip - and I really want to see Lorde. But fuck knows, not like I have money anyway. We'll see.
  7. All Points East Festival 2018

Nah, I watched them from the back of the field while slowly sipping the half-pint of cider that I got with the last of my change for the weekend. Then when they finished the entire the crowd cleared out (Catfish fans aint stickin around for PJ) so we walked right up to the dead centre of the barrier and the time of our lives watching PJ and LCD. I meant the main festival weekend, anyway, as there's plenty on for me every day there and obviously fuck Catfish. Do want to do The National gig too but I'm potentially busy in Exeter then and also may well be sick of APE by then if I'd done the weekend. We'll see how it goes.
  8. All Points East Festival 2018

Seen day tickets for this thing going about for £50 already, down from ~£70 (once you account for fees) FV two months before the event. These things are gonna be going cheap as shit. Might try and work out a weekend in London and just do the whole thing, reckon you'll be able to grab em for £30 a day without much hassle.
  9. The most played song

Jezza Corbyn had his song played a few times last year
  10. 2019 Headliners

The genius line up detective has logged on
  11. Album of the Year 2017

Pop2 is a fuckin masterpiece. Top stuff. The more I think about it the more I think it genuinely might have been aoty, my only criticism is some of the features are a bit overbearing and detract from tracks that don't really need them.
  12. Predictions for 2018

Vampire Weekend announced as subbing the main Lollapalooza in Chicago - really drives home what a great booking that is for EotR.
  13. Which artists on which stages?

Well I don't know what particular history EotR has with this but generally festivals that book bands to come back quite soon after a previous appearance will move them to a different slot to keep things fresh. After headlining the Garden stage last time they played in 2016 the only way they don't play an identical slot is if they get moved up to the Woods. Reckon they'd get a decent crowd, anyway.
  14. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

I think I wondered into Baxter Dury's set at End of the Road and thought it was pretty neat. I was very drunk and haven't listened to them since though so take that with a pinch of salt.
  15. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

I dunno I'm not the best judge of this but it's a fairly big venue isn't it? Is there any resale limitation bollocks on it?
  16. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

I'm up for that MGMT gig if I have money nearer the time. Definitely on board with Little Dark Age.
  17. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Devastating self-own there but tbf you'd change your tune too if your new stuff was as bad as Hymns.
  18. Radiohead Headlining 2017

Haha get to fuck with those prices Thom
  19. Arcade Fire

Globalist on the arena tour was a laugh cos it had nice visuals and a massive drone thing that flew around a bit then proceeded to nosedive right into the crowd. Globalist at Glasto was where the proper shite was.
  20. Arcade Fire

That was £30 tho and didn't have any resale issues.
  21. Arcade Fire

I'm probably going to aim to go on the Friday but if I don't get put down to work on Thursday then that's an option too. Probs going to either listen out here for if names are getting checked at the earlier gigs or try and find someone who's selling a cheap spare that can go in with me. I really can't afford it but I also really want to go so the likelihood of me giving in some time between now and next month is fairly high.
  22. 2018 New Music

new Young Fathers is proper good, yeah. much less of a 'bangers' kind of thing but all very very good. wish I could go see them in Bristol next week but train prices aren't looking nice so I'm shut out. awful.
  23. Arcade Fire

Oh yeah obviously it is - but people still excuse it as 'it's to stop the touts' which is such obvious bullshit on a tour like this. I probably will go seated anyway, quite happy to sit and watch Arcade Fire - overenthusiastic Manchester crowds at their last gig certainly affected the experience a bit.
  24. Arcade Fire

Apparently the tickets are covered in warnings that names and ID's will be checked on the door and all that so I ain't keen to risk it. Dumb as fuck policy that only benefits the ticket companies but there ya go.
  25. Arcade Fire

yr resident Everything Now listener is still feeling sad about not being able to afford Wembley tickets and I may eventually cave but man that would be a financially irresponsible decision
