  1. Penn Fest 2018

    Completely understandable. Thanks.
  2. Penn Fest 2018

Are you able to elaborate on how you saw it? Was in on their website?
  3. Boomtown 2018

I hope they make any reductions slowly and gauge response. At the end of the day if some reductions reduces risk of the festival existing then it's a sensible move, especially if they are in high demand.
  4. JUSTICE

I was in a very similar place for the Jacksons and Justice (a little further forward of the stall closest to the stage on the left hand side) and the sound was so much better on the Sunday.
  5. 2018 New Music

Listened to it this morning and I've never really got Tune Yards but this record might be the one that leads to them making sense to me. Really surprised how much I enjoyed it.
  6. Boomtown 2018

It was my first year last year and was camped right next to the raveyard and thought it was one of the best of the woodland rave areas. Certainly in terms of aesthetics and seemed fairly busy. I'm surprised it's got the chop.
  7. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Any more info on this? i.e. when & where tickets will be on sale?
  8. Dropkick Murphys @ Boomtown?

Could they also fit into the new Disorder Alley theme? I'd imagine if they are increasing capacity any additions will be on the bigger side of the districts and want some big names to spread the crowds?
  9. 2018 New Music

Love it, new album Tearing at the Seams, March 9
  10. Glastonbury 2020

After another successful album could Foals headline? They obviously respect the festival and visa versa
  11. Boomtown 2018

According to Facebook Boomtown are 'Officially ready to focus on line up announcements. Music office have locked in some beasts, February can't come quick enough...' So looks like we wont get anything immediately but something to look forward to during these wet and windy days.
  12. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

I think that set was the first act I saw in the sun after a few days of shitty weather. I remember being so happy about pretty much everything in life at the time. Especially because i demolished an amazing paella shortly before. Frank was amazing at the Gaslight gig. He explained towards the end of his set that he normally hangs out at the merch stall during the main set to meet anyone that's interested but because he was near his home town on part of a big tour he wanted to watch Gaslight with his friends at the back of the room (so only spent the time between the bands at the stall). We weren't bothered enough to go and chat to him but at he was darting across the room during the first song of the main set he walked past us, we gave him a quick shake of the hand but then completely unexpectedly he stayed with us to listen to the first song and ask us about a few newer songs he played before heading back to his kin. Top bloke. Can't believe that was 9 years ago.
  13. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

I remember seeing them in the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth supported by Frank Turner (who had already sold the venue out when top of the bill and I was a huge fan of at the time). I think I got change of £15 for that ticket. I would quite like a repeat of that if possible.
  14. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Would love a 59 Sound UK tour - still their best work in my opinion.
  15. Victorious Festival 2018

I hadn't really thought of the proximity. You're right though, I was just hoping to suggest someone a little different!
  16. Victorious Festival 2018

Is anyone else hoping for a line up soon now that Christmas is over and the dust has settled? Perhaps they'll wait for January payday so people can actually afford a ticket. Could Gorillaz play this year? The Boomtown 'exclusive' wording is open to interpretation, Damon seems to like playing Portsmouth and could be the right kind of size, especially if they're shared with a few other fests around the country?
  17. Oasis

And is now on Iplayer. I watched it today, fantastic couple of hours well spent.
  18. Boomtown 2018

I think I read that they were remaking the Lion's Den for next year as well aren't they? It'd be interesting to see if it gets (even) bigger.
  19. Boomtown 2018

That's quite a jump from 60,000. I wonder how scalable it is? Do you think that the experience has suffered with past growth?
  20. Victorious Festival 2018

I'd have thought that Foals would be a bigger (and more affordable) draw than the Strokes. Possibly my personal preference interfering but then I was going to Reading 10-15 years ago!
  21. Victorious Festival 2018

I don't think Strokes need Victorious though. Perhaps I'm underestimating it's gravitas.
  22. Victorious Festival 2018

I picked up some Sat/Sun tickets today. Friday ones don't seem to be available at the moment. I'm sure they will be soon. (PS I'd be amazed if Victorious got a band who charge as much and play as infrequently in the UK as little as the Strokes)
  23. Radiohead Headlining 2017

You could have heard a pin drop during Daydreaming at the roundhouse (well over the crowd, not the music)
  24. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

badger-related beef sounds like the next chapter in the Findus Scandal.
  25. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

I'd suggest that you go with an open mind. I was almost dragged to see them at bestival a few years ago and it was one of the best sets of the weekend.
