  1. Cutting off pylon ground from bus travellers is the stupidest decision I think they have ever made. Encourage people to travel by coach and then block off the largest accessible campsite is crazy. Still, loads of room for vip campers around John peel tent.

(yes, I didn’t get a ticket but last year was a piss take for coach arrivals on the Thursday.)

  2. Got lucky every year with coach tickets for Thursday until this year. Absolutely gutted, any help much appreciated. You really don’t know what it means until you can’t grab a ticket. It’s my life reaffirming weekend of the year and I’m going to struggle without.

    peace and love x

I don't understand why this happens year after year.  It totally spoils the Park stage atmosphere and makes it hard to listen to a lot of acts.

Surely that person responsible for the Park area is aware of this - as everyone else is.

I went and sat in there on Saturday afternoon before jockstrap to get a bit of shade. Deafening and about 5 people in there plus a dodgy DJ, felt like a scene from Nathan Barley. Bar staff were great though.

Maybe, currently in front of me are a bunch of lads sniffing coke and comparing biceps (wish I was joking)

Just feels like a massive empty space now ( the installation actually feels pretty small in the space imo) and just makes an already sparse corner of the festival feel even more so

    Where was this?

Baffles me! I reckon Darble will be rammed this year because of it. And I hate camping on slopes so I have no choice but to pack light and hike all the way to Back House ur Rigs Field

Same here. Off to bargain booze for some spirits, not carrying beer that far from the coach. Looking at the map darble and woodsies combined looks similar in size to pylon. With bushy and a few others being close to pedestrian gates then they have decided to make coach arrivals on Thursday walk virtually the length of the site to camp.
I can only assume they have an Etonian making this decision. Absolutely f**king stupid.

  6. Pylon was rammed last year on the Thursday morning. Going to have to pack lighter if on the coach as it looks like it’s going to be a long walk. Such a strange decision closing that field, doesn’t make any sense to me. Surely having accessible camping would encourage people to travel by coach.

then Pulp into churnups slot ... everyone happy 🙂

    I’d have that.

Otherwise the Friday afternoon looks a bit dead for me.

Blur would be great though in either slot.

Nope. Im about 15st 8, but Im 6ft 4. So most people would say Im pretty average for my height.

I dont have issues in the cold. At all. I go watching Oldham Athletic every week. Anyone who's ever been to Boundary Park will tell you it's not the warmest... I cant remember the last time I wore a jumper / hoodie under my coat to a game. Even in minus temps, I'd be too hot.

I am never cold. The meme of a bloke in shorts in the snow... that's me.

That as may be, I dont doubt that. but the post you replied to isnt me saying I want it to to rain. It's me saying I'd rather it be a temperature everyone can get comfirtable in, without rain.

More people would prefer Coldplay to King Gizzard to a conservative ratio of 1000:1, but I'm part of the smaller ratio of that too.

I don’t want Coldplay or rain.

Honestly can’t see the decent weather lasting, it never does. Hope I’m wrong though.

Is it really true that it is the exact same day and time that Foo Fighters first played at their first Glasto?

I can't help but feel this is more than a coincidence.

No. They were on later, around 8pm. It absolutely pissed down.

Yeah you're sound Gonzo, it's the people genuinely coming in here to tell everyone else why GnR are past it and why you must be a drooling moron to want to see them.

    I don’t drool.

It’s going to be a stoned groove my man.

I honestly don’t understand why anyone would not want to see these. Granted I’ve not watched any recent footage so I’m hoping for the best. I have seen Elton John recently though and I’m avoiding him like the plague.

Double denim Saturday is nearly here, ooooooohhhh yeahhhhhhhh.

    yowser!!!

Expecting the camping areas around gate A to be overcrowded if Pylon is going to be staff camping

    This, absolutely stupid idea that.

They push for people to travel by coaches and then close off the largest, nearest campsite. If it’s muddy and pissing down it’s going to be an absolute pain in the arse finding somewhere to camp. Incredibly stupid idea.

Yeah, sod that. I'd rather listen to Norman from Brighton play other people's records.

Assuming that you’re being sarcastic then yeah. Why waste your time watching a legendary band when you can watch a bloke stand still.

And yes, I’ve seen him plenty of times.

  14. It’s not often you get a genuine bone fide ROCK band at Glastonbury. I enjoyed Metallica even with a dwindling crowd, the people who were there loved it. Suspect this will be a much bigger crowd but hopefully the same kind of buzz. I can’t wait for this.

Currently bidding for a top hat.

    I hope they aren’t shite.

It'll be interesting to see how many are are QOTSA.

They got a big crowd vs Beyoncé. It'll be considerably smaller vs Elton.

In previous years someone has had a document showing how many were approx. at different stages at different times. I wondered how many were at TLC last year? I wasn't there but my mate said it was dangerous.

As I’ve said in other threads, I saw Elton John a few weeks back and it was not very good. Once people realise they can’t understand what he’s singing/ strange tempo to well known tunes I’m pretty sure a lot of people will go elsewhere. I’m going to look at the start of his set from the cider bus, if it’s like what I saw in Liverpool then I’m legging it to the other stage.

They're on in the Glade. Mantra Of The Cosmos.

    Ah, cheers, missed that.

    Thank f**k for that.

    Must be Pulp. Fingers crossed.

  17. Wasn’t there an article a couple of weeks ago about some group consisting of Shaun Ryder, Andy Bell and a few others saying they were playing?

That would be very disappointing if this is them.
