  1. Who should act differently here? And what exactly do you define as "cancelling"? Can you describe what exact actions taken by which people you disagree with and how do you think they should act instead?

All I see is fans who are upset with somebody espousing harmful views, as they have a right to be, and stopping to be fans of hers, as she herself says they have a right to be. Who's responsibility is it for Murphy's education on this topic? Surely her own, she's a grown adult. How can there be an opportunity for her to learn when she herself says she won't engage any further.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment 100%, drag queens and trans people are not one and the same. Suggesting so is transphobic in itself.*

See how easy one comment online can lead to people making judgments about you?

*I don’t actually think you’re transphobic for the record.

What are you saying here? It would be incredibly bad faith to judge RCB of anything more than clumsy wording from that post.

The hostility is very much coming from both "sides".

I'm sorry yeah, what trans people go through is really nothing compared to being called names by some anime avatars online is it.

I'm not debating the rights of trans people, it's without question, for me the debate is around the safeness of puberty blockers and how we ensure their appropriate use. I beleive that's were Roisin is coming from.

It's just a debate about the puberty blockers, it's just a debate about sports, it's just a debate about prisons, it's just a debate about women's shelters, it's just a debate about bathrooms, it's just a debate about legal recognition.

You know it's funny how you never hear from trans people in these "debates", and they're all cropping up at the same time, despite there having been absolutely no harm occuring to prompt them, and it's just a coincidence that the right wing really loves this sh*t and keeps pushing it. And the answer is never for the experts in the relevant field to be given the space and funding to look into it, and for the trans community to be involved and consulted. It always ends in insults, stigma, the removal of services, cis people get the first, second, middle and last word in all of it.

What about when trans people want to have a debate about the complete removal of healthcare provisions, or the constant stigma, or the constant administerial battles, or the cost, or the huge mental health toll of a lifetime of being portrayed as and treated as a joke or a disgrace, or the tangible increase in hostility and derision your debate is having. That debate never gets heard does it.

  5. I've not seen a WH headliner since 2017, when I saw all 3 of them. I need a good one for next time. Please let 2024 be the year the final boss of problematic faves Miss Badu finally freaks us all out on the Holts 🙏

  6. The compost bogs were pretty grim, let's be real. I've been going to multiple UK camping festivals every summer since 2009 and these were some of the worst I can remember. Andy's loos were pretty great, kept nice and clean and well stocked. An open mountain of human poo inching ever closer, three steep mud caked steps, a complete gamble as to whether there'll be any toilet roll, cup for the sawdust, or hand sanitiser, pitch black in the dark, is not cool.

The "womxn's" urinals were alright for avoiding queues and having to touch anything, and I was thankful for them at the times when a band had finished and I was bursting, but they could do with a lot of improvement. Higher walls for privacy, and some way of indicating that there's a person in there are seriously needed. Having to roll my tights up while still squatting was extremely difficult, plus the sensation that somebody could be looking right down on you when the person beside stands up is really unnerving, and the first time I used them somebody walked in on me because you can't really tell if somebody's squatting in one of them unless you're tall enough to see the head poking above the wall. After that I kept my hand poking around the corner so somebody would see that before they walked in on me.

And yeah call them women's urinals or squat urinals, just something other than "womxn's", that word isn't inclusive and has a spotty history.

Other than the bogs, lovely place, I'll be back some time. I think I might want to steward again next time. We'll see in a couple of years. Got Eras tour tickets for next year, so please don't book Sufjan.

  7. I'm getting my life if she plays London Boy at my Wembley night. It's a certified bop. Sorry but if you don't like cringe then why tf are you in to Taylor Swift lmao

They already are! Can't work out why they won't shift as this year's line up is so good!

Have you listed them as indivual tickets or as a batch? Singles will sell, especially if cheap. I bought the cheapest single GA on fanticks about 2 hours ago, it had only been up about 15 mins.

State of Grace and The Lakes personally

    f**k yeah.

Love these two, they've both got prominent place in our wedding playlist. So does Ivy.

I'll take whatever she's giving us, but State Of Grace and Ivy would be the dream two, The Lakes would be a close third.

The Man is cute enough once you get over its idea of feminism sounding like it was pulled from a Tumblr post made in 2013.

🙄 she's talking very specifically about the undeniable sexist double standards of how the press speak about her, it's not like she tries to pretend this is the full extent of sexism in the world or minimises anyone else's experiences. She's completely allowed to do this. The Man is a good song and a good video. She was real for that one.

Not to toot the horn of this forum too much, but there was certainly a lot of praise for Red and excitement for 1989 on its release around these parts from people who had a keen ear for good music.

It was literally me and you and no one else on here who liked her in the Red era lmao. I remember you bringing up that she was in the area of Glastonbury on the Red tour. The only other people who gave a sh*t were the ones who were giving it the "teenage girl shite! I am very intelligent". Then even in the 1989 era there were a load of people who liked her but still a constant stream of real music uncles barging into the thread to be like "oi u just like her coz she's fit". And then a few of them got won over when prolific sex abuser and real haircut haver Ryan Adams had the manners to fix her album for her without even having to be asked.

Lover went hard once you ignored the singles

How can you say this, the singles are great

LWYMMD is good, Bad Blood is good, karate chops to all haters. Her only truly bad song is Endgame.

  13. I'm p eager to know about the sale date for this year, I really hope we're on November for good now. My partner has said she isn't going to be up to going next year, she's got a spinal injury that stops her being able to stand for long periods of time, pair that with sleeping on an air mattress for 5 nights and the killer heat, she had to have a very subdued festival. I hope that with physio she'll be physically up to it again, and if I'm there without her then absence will make the heart grow fonder and she'll be back in the game for 2025. I'll probably really enjoy a nice solo run next year, I've never done that before, but I'm really looking forward to her coming back and maybe even us enjoying our favourite artist Miss Taylor on the Pyramid together like we were so excited for back in 2020. The spanner in the works there is that we're getting married on the first Saturday of October in 2024, so if the ticket sale date is moving back to then we're probably dabbing down. There's always the Thursday sale but I've never once had a sniff in that, and besides I just don't want ticket day drama around our wedding, it would obviously be sick as hell if we dab up two days before we get married but the odds are just not with us there.
