  1. Agree with the comments that a 90 minute set would have suited them better. I left after an hour, when they were padding it out with covers. I had started watching from the top right (newly opened) section but it quickly became clear to me that the awful sound up there was due to the rear speaker towers not being in sync with the front ones, and being able to hear both. It became really clear that was the case when Axl spoke between songs and you could hear the delayed repeat. Much better sound in the centre, and I actually thought his voice was fine, but the show just hadn't grabbed me. I'm not massively familiar with the material though so that's on me. Great to hear some enjoyed it.
  2. Drinks prices (alcohol) were not massively different to where I live (Manchester). Food prices pretty standard for a gig or festival. Biggest shocker for me was the stall between the Pyramid and San Remo were selling individual loo rolls for £2 each. Canned water also over-priced - more taps would make it redundant.
  3. 1. Sophie Ellis-Bexter 2. The Magic Numbers 3. Lana Del Rey (despite issues...) Also loved Texas, The Lightning Seeds, Dom Joly, Cerian, Foos and a few others.
  4. The guests were the major underwhelming aspect of his set, which I otherwise enjoyed. It was a shame that aspect was bigged up so much. I was surrounded by people going "who???" as the first couple were announced.
  5. Should they be banned at stages? Of course! Will they ever be banned at stages? Never gonna happen.
  6. Woodsies, Sunday afternoon. "Is this Cat Stevens?" "No, it's Cat Burns." "Is EVERYONE playing called 'Cat'???"
  7. The onsite Co-Op had crisps. Think they were in compostable bags.
  8. TLC. Aside from crowding issues, what was the deal with that overlong intro before they actually got on stage? The hype man also generally ruined it I felt. Was just hoping for a fun set but it didn't quite work.
  9. Agreed, San Remo just looked like a garage forecourt. I missed The Blues and felt far too much of Silver Hayes' character has been stripped away this year.
  10. Self Esteem is the Greenpeace guest tonight (confirmed during her Peel set).
  11. Close to Gate D is usually pretty calm at night. A slightly further walk in of course, but not a bad walk by any means. You can sometimes hear Arcadia in the distance, but there's always some distant sound isn't there.
