  1. All Points East Festival 2018

He probably won't do any festivals. If not for his meat policies then his politics. I feel as if Nine Inch Nails would be signed and announced already if they were headlining the All Points East gig. My only guess as to why they're not would be that they have touring commitments outside of Europe until July or late-June. Buggered if I know where Trent's lads are gonna pop up in the UK.
  2. Tbf that's why you shouldn't worry about it. The early positions this year were ridiculous and nobody would've predicted the likes of Vant that high up or Judas and Pins on that stage at all. So don't listen to anyone because we're all firing in the dark anyway.
  3. 2019 festival

Oh so that's why Kerrang like them as well.
  4. Huh how do you suggest Darlia would play second up but The Big Moon with a widely acclaimed and Mercury nominated album don't deserve to be one slot higher than that? Darlia don't even have an album despite threatening one four years ago. You're right that Mac is being underestimated but he'd be in legit contention to headline NME at this point. But he's not gonna - he's been touring the UK around R+L the past two years and didn't play so I don't think they're that interested in booking him. He'd go down well tho.
  5. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Putting Circa Waves at the head of that bill...
  6. I think they're more likely to go out of their way to separate rap headliner and rap sub. Other two could be either/or I guess.
  7. 2019 festival

Sounds like the best place to be.
  8. TRNSMT Festival 2018

Tbf there still would've been over a week between their Wembley date and that Sunday. I'm sure they won't miss Scotland out on this tour - it'll likely be a Glasgow Summer Sessions appearance if not some other park in August.
  9. 2019 festival

The Hunna are almost as big as those bands are right now. I'm talking a couple of years time with a new album and possible arena dates. FR seem to like them too. I'm not sure they'll reach headline status or anything because in a few years when their fans reach 16 or whatever they'll probably get into more bands and outgrow The Hunna, but subbing while they're still popular seems like a reasonable bet.
  10. Album of the Year 2017

My name is Boutros Boutros Boutros Ghali. Put down the mixtapes and give us the album, Charli!
  11. Album of the Year 2017

Is she’s gonna differentiate between mixtapes and albums then so am I.
  12. Lineup 2018

Completely not a R+L act. You’d have them two on stage doing acapella harmonies and some shitty kids starting an ironic circle pit.
  13. 2019 festival

They could do it but I'm sure it would certainly be on the second year of whatever tour, because there's no way they'll forego the run of June's hard rock and metal festivals they play every couple of years to do R+L and the like.
  14. Lineup 2018

This is generally not a rule for most festivals Alf.
  15. 2019 festival

I read this three times wondering what Tyler the Creator had to do with Peep Show.
  16. 2019 festival

Okay, time to get me some criticism of my own: MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, A Day to Remember, Bombay Bicycle Club, Glass Animals NME: Everything Everything ARCTIC MONKEYS, The Hunna, Architects, Run the Jewels NME: Giggs THE 1975, Two Door Cinema Club, Tyler the Creator, Neck Deep NME: The Libertines
  17. Lineup 2018

I reckon they should change their announcement schedule because the December and January ones seem practically pointless. It's like the people getting them early were getting them regardless of acts, and the people dependent on acts wait until the main announcement. Just bring the main announcement forward a month I say, then more acts and the assigning of stage splits and running orders in March. I think that could well bring back the chaotic scramble for weekend tickets that they used to have.
  18. Lineup 2018

Ah, The Grimmie definitely announced Eminem. I don’t think it matters to the announcement timing though. Yeah next week would be more likely than this week because there’s only one day left. As for more likely than others, I dunno. It seems that either they’re having a hold up in the announcement or are changing the way they typically announce so it could be tomorrow and it could be January.
  19. Lineup 2018

When did they stop announcing it on the radio?
  20. 2017 on Spotify

Wow. That’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do.
  21. All Points East Festival 2018

There’s a comp on DICE to win VIP tix to all the music events over the two weekends. You gotta buy a ticket to a Goldenvoice event to enter (includes like Young Fathers, PSB, Bonobo... there’s a list on the app) but it’s open until end of Jan so more qualifying gigs might pop up before then. Another good reason to get on DICE anyway.
  22. Taylor Swift

You're right, it is a great piece massively undermined by the runner up shout. In 2016 he changed the world, fair enough. In 2017 he ignored/dismissed everything going on in the world and played golf.
  23. Lineup 2018

It's not just a Pukkelpop rumour; an Austrian newspaper hinted towards them as a booked act for Frequency Festival before that. I would sorta expect to hear about a new album very soon if they're to play this summer, however.
  24. Lineup 2018

They're not the biggest and best at what they do, Foo Fighters are. Honestly not to dampen the analytical powers of Beez but they're in good company as far as generic rock bands go; it's just they became the whipping boys of pop-rock and it stuck. I guess the horrible post-grunge leanings is what makes them an easier target than most - I think if Creed were still around they'd get shit on just as much - but yeah it is what it is and I don't see any reason why they have to become a festival band. I think their first album is pretty good grunge tho.
  25. Lineup 2018

What makes them the sort of band Download should book? They are a band that the majority would refuse to even give a chance and would think twice about going to a festival they’re headlining, and their fans probably don’t have a lot of interest in going to the festival either.
