Foo Fighters are just as well suited to R&L now as they were in 2019, 2012, 2005, 2002 or any other year they’ve played. They’re a multi-generational defining band who will always have immense pull and interest the youth as they are one of the biggest bands in the world who are constantly pulling in young and new fans. They are far more a part of R&L’s identity than any other festival in this country and that isn’t going to change for the rest of their career. They would pull as big a crowd in 2025 and sell as many day tickets as they did at any other time they’ve headlined. There’s very few bands who sit in this bracket and Foos are at the top of it.

The description on the post on socials is a bit weird, saying that Cradle will be playing all the favourites from the MTV2 and Scuzz days. Assuming the ‘old school ritual’ will be a set focused on Nymphetamine and before, in that case. 200 Stab Wounds and Fuming Mouth being added is cool.

Excellent post this. I don’t think it can be overstated just how much the t-shirts your favourite bands wear in shoots and on stage can lead you to all kinds of things you’d never have been aware of before. I have absolutely fallen in love with Crowbar over the last couple of years because Konan from Malevolence usually has one of their tees on when playing and I just kept seeing it. Some Sleepy T fans will end up at Meshuggah and SikTh and that’s the coolest thing.

MCR demand would be massive. You have over 100,000 people who saw them and will want to do so again and then you’ve got everyone who missed out on tickets. I think they’re maybe the biggest band they could get for 2025. Sleep Token have sold more tickets on this tour (in one day) than BMTH, Ghost, Blink-182, Maiden and Paramore on their last tours. We’re witnessing history, fellas.

The Chevron stage is clearly named because of the chevrons that have been a part of the festival’s standing since 2012. On a different note, Barry Can’t Swim is good.

I’m expecting one more act on each of the other two days to make it up to 8 acts like the LG day.

The only one I can see is Chase and Status really. I don’t think we’re entering a more dance dominated era higher up the stages, it’s just we might see more DnB artist, for example, on the main stage etc.

There’s still some of the usual lot like Solardo, MK, Andy C. I could see Bicep returning to that stage too. They could have hip hop acts on there too.

The tour isn’t until summer 😂 give the gal a chance. If it’s not her, I can see them getting O Rod.

She’s doing a big arena tour so I don’t think she’s stalled too much. Also, there isn’t a MSW anymore.
