Oh fuck that is encouraging, then! Yeah hope they don't do what they did this year and just go for the biggest bands possible. Then again based on his arena tour he's hardly small-fry now
  2. Kendrick Lamar

Wasn't the actual quote that he'd be back at the end of the year but we just assumed he may have meant end of Summer instead? Or have I missed something on that. But yeah if he isn't around until late Summer there has to be a great chance; reckon he's more likely for R&L than V.
  3. Liam Gallagher

He get sing at all now. How can you not understand that?
  4. LCD Soundsystem....

I don't think anyone was trying to claim LCD Soundsystem are the American Dream, Gaz.
  5. LCD Soundsystem....

So it was Fantano making the Dentalplan spoof accounts? Weirdly my phone autocorrected Fantano to Dental when I typed the above.
  6. Kendrick Lamar

Yeah I agree. Reckon my only chance of seeing him until I'm earning proper money is at a festival. Really hope he headlines R&L next year and not Wireless. As naff as R&L is, I'd happily go there for the day to see him, especially as Leeds is my local major festival. Saying that, I was probably gonna go to this tour if any of my friends had been willing
  7. Lineup 2018

I know who Flume is but I don't think he's big enough to play 3rd down main. You Me At Six are absolute nobodies now, they were third down in 2014 when they were definitely bigger than they are now. But anyway, like I said NME headliner usually equates to around 3rd or 4th down main.

  9. Lineup 2018

Well they're not directly equivalent obvs but I'd say NME headliners would usually be 3rd/4th down Main, NME subs around 5th and NME 3rds around 7th. Sub Focus, Everything Everything and Mura Masa definitely wouldn't have been near 4th main (although EE were a pretty big booking for their slot I guess). I also don't think YMAS, Flume or HAIM could have played 3rd down main.
  10. Lineup 2018

4th main is basically equivalent to NME headline. They've just sold out Brixton in 4 days without even having put out new music, and I expect they'll have released music by next Summer. Dunno if I see them doing R&L but I reckon they'd headline NME if they did.
  11. Lineup 2018

I really don't think we'll be seeing Friendly Fires 3rd down the NME. They were 4th down main in 2011 and there will probably be some hype about them returning.
  12. Lineup 2018

Yeah at one point I thought they'd sub but nah 3rd down seems right.
  13. Lineup 2018

Ugh cba with The fucking Courteeners stinking up the lineup once again.
  14. Rock Werchter 2018

Ah fair enough, didn't know she'd played so many times recently. Then again it doesn't seem to stop them with KoL and Editors Pearl Jam or Metallica instead of her then and shift The Prodigy onto The Killers' day.
  15. British Summer Time 2018

Can see Paramore doing BST, maybe Kasabian if they're not at IOW, Gorillaz if they're touring next Summer, Billy Joel after he announced that Dublin date, Jack White if he's around next Summer, Smashing Pumpkins if they reform, Pearl Jam if they come to Europe.
  16. Rock Werchter 2018

QOTSA/The National Arctic Monkeys The Killers Florence and the Machine/The Prodigy Maybe Metallica instead of one of them but they could do Graspop instead? Also Pearl Jam if they do come to Europe.
  17. Nick Cave

God, Distant Sky was ridiculous. I was almost in tears at it. I Need You was amazing too but I was too busy belting it out to be think about crying. Yeah I was similar. Got in just before he came on and was near the back until Stagger Lee. Was behind three nobheads who wouldn't stop talking through the first few songs and were even taking the piss out of a guy a bit in front of them because he was getting into the music. Were all middle aged men, too. Middle aged men taking the piss out of a guy for being into a gig just because they wanted to stand and chat through if all. Why fucking go to the gig? They didn't even seem to care when he played the hits. But even still, best gig I've ever been to. He was already probably the best artist I'd ever seen but that was insane.
  18. Kendrick Lamar

    Kendrick and James Blake ffssssss
  19. Nick Cave

Yeah it was absolutely amazing. I think Jubilee Street and Stagger Lee are the best live songs I've ever seen, which was also the case last time I saw them in 2013. The ending of Jubilee Street live is absolutely ridiculous. I was with a couple of people from on here who hadn't seen it live before and were baffled by it.
  20. Nick Cave

Just got on my National Express. That was absolutely ridiculous, best night of my life. After he'd got all the people on stage I lost track of where he was. Then the guy with me shouted "He's in the fucking crowd!" and then the crowd in front of me opened up a path for him to get to the barrier and I was just stood in front of him and shit myself. Didn't really know what to do so quickly hugged him and grabbed his arse to boost him up to the barrier where I held him for a verse of Stagger Lee whilst he sang about fucking guys and shooting them in the head whilst staring down at me. Terrifying stuff. Absolutely fucking amazing, though. I'm so baffled by tonight.
  21. Nick Cave

Anyone actually manager to get in? I've been here over an hour and not managed to get in yet.
  22. The National

What the fuck that Wednesday setlist??? Hard to Find > All the Wine > Slow Show > Conversation 16 > Bloodbuzz Ohio, plus Pink Rabbits ffs. And even Mr November which we didn't get on Tuesday.
  23. The National

Good gig. Had no idea what the cover was and no one else seemed to be into it. Pointless waste of a slot when Mr November and bluddy Pink Rabbits weren't played. Had to rush to London Victoria after and I haven't eaten since midday and I'm so hangry. Not gonna be home until 3am I reckon I'll have wasted away by then.
