  1. Slight update. As always there would be acts to slot in above some of the lower ones like Alvvays. Stole a couple of FR/Dance headliners as I couldn't be arsed thinking about them until we have more of an idea of who'll be around. Reading Friday/Leeds Saturday: Main: Royal Blood/Paramore (co-headline) / Wolf Alice / Don Broco / Lil Uzi Vert / Marmozets / Creeper / IDLES / Basement NME: Schoolboy Q / Jack Garratt / The Horrors / Tom Grennan Dance: Hannah Wants FR: Peace Reading Saturday/Leeds Sunday: Main: Arctic Monkeys / 30 Seconds to Mars / Courteeners / The Wombats / Mastodon / Alien Ant Farm / The Amazons / Fickle Friends / Inheaven NME: All Time Low / Nothing But Thieves / King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Dance: Annie Mac Pit: Skindred FR: Amber Run 1xtra: Brockhampton Reading Sunday/Leeds Friday: Main: Kendrick Lamar / Twenty One Pilots / The Kooks / Everything Everything / J-Hus / The Hunna / Declan McKenna / Hinds NME: Vampire Weekend / Rat Boy / The Cribs / Alvvays Dance: Sigma FR: Death From Above 1xtra: Wretch 32
  2. Lineup 2018

But the rock element is becoming less relevant because they're keeping up with music trends and hence booking more hip-hop and dance instead of it. It's no longer a solely rock festival in the same way it's no longer a jazz festival.
  3. Lineup 2018

Meh it's a contemporary music festival that moves with the times but also has a strong focus on rock music. Getting annoyed that it's booking some of what's in vogue at the moment because it used to be a rock festival is dumb. It used to have more rock because rock was more popular back then than it is now. If grime was this big 15 years ago then R&L would have been booking it. Most of us who no longer go to the festival had a turning point where what was being booked was no longer in line with our tastes, but that's because we're older than the target market and they're booking what that target market are after. 16-18 year olds at the moment are into grime and being a guy seemingly in his mid-late 20s making YouTube videos complaining about a festival aimed at teenagers replacing the music he likes with grime music is embarrassing af. Tbh tho it's not worth the level of ranting I'm going at here I was just overwhelmed by the cringe. Anyway ye I'll stop moaning about him.
  4. Lineup 2018

Man complained about grime cos it was originally a rock festival... When it was originally a jazz festival... Fuck sake.
  5. Lineup 2018

Is this a grown man with a YouTube channel dedicated to Reading and Leeds festivals? His rock love and grime hate is as embarrassing as the Courteeners-obsessed Manc people on Twitter who think everything other than lad rock isn't proper music. Also what was even the point in that video? Man actually hand wrote a line-up of his favourite bands on canvas with Rammstein half way down The Pit and included his own band and one band just so his cousin would buy a ticket... To a festival that isn't even happening... This has made me unnecessarily angry smh.
  6. I like Arctic Monkeys, Stormzy, Tame Impala, Kendrick Lamar, Vampire Weekend and honestly that's about it. Think it'd be a naff lineup but then again I expect it to be a naff lineup.
  7. Lineup 2018

Not sure how I managed to get through 5 minutes of that.
  8. Oh no it was just a joke cos everyone always quotes people's predictions and bolds the acts they'd see, but your prediction was already written in bold
  9. Download 2018

I thought Trent hated playing metal festivals because he doesn't like NIN being seen as a metal band, or something along those lines. Can't see them playing at all. Most likely trio is surely A7X, Metallica and Ozzy as most have said, and after that I think there's a chance of Bon Jovi, BMTH (if they're active) and QOTSA (if the own show info is false or is just a show in Scotland or something). Can't really think who else there is. Pearl Jam but they also don't like heavy festivals do they?
  10. British Summer Time 2018

Ohh right sorry for the misunderstanding haha. And yeah, spill or give us a hint
  11. British Summer Time 2018

Those sentences weren't linked. It wasn't a "wtf are you after if you don't want Roger Waters?" I was just asking because there could easily be acts he likes in contention for the remaining spots. But even if you don't like him, it's not really an underwhelming booking in the grand scheme of things.
  12. British Summer Time 2018

50% of the headliners so far are Roger Waters. What kind of acts are you after? Still 4 or so headliners to come ain't there, and it's usually a decent spread of artists.
  13. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Based on it being in this thread I assumed a tour/own show announcement rather than a festival announcement. Won't be R&L anyway as they always warn us of an incoming announcement and it's too soon for them anyway. BST also normally warn us the night before so we'll know tonight if they've an announcement coming tomorrow. They also announced Bruno Mars either yesterday or the day before so it'd be a bit soon for them to announce another.
  14. Nick Cave

Ugh why can't Glasto just be on next year? I'd be expecting him to pop up now if it were.
  15. Latitude 2018

Yeah decent shout if he's around.
  16. That Friday and Saturday are actually well good. I'd probs get two day tickets tbh.
  17. Isle of Wight 2018 Festival

Quite a few big, older bands who look like they'll be around at the time - Depeche Mode, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam. Could end up similar to 2012 in that regard. Pretty much between IOW and BST for them all in terms of festivals (guess Bon Jovi could do Download). Also in terms of newer acts, the likes of Kasabian, Florence and The Killers will probably be around with no obvious festivals for them to be at. If IOW make a hash of their headliners this year then they should probably just give up.
  18. Rock Werchter 2018

Neil hinting on Twitter about Depeche Mode at IOW so a Werchter return could be on the cards?
  19. British Summer Time 2018

Still got options (although Bruno Mars would have been a good booking for them) - Taylor Swift, Kanye, Calvin Harris, Drake, Eminem, Florence and the Machine or The Killers if they decide to go back on their all-out-pop direction. Probably more I'm forgetting.
  20. British Summer Time 2018

It's probably a one-off Puzzle anniversary show. There's a t-shirt up on their store saying something about 31st Oct so could be a small show up in Scotland on that date or something.
  21. Lineup 2018

I reckon they could sub someone like Foos who won't need much of a hand shifting tickets. Not that I expect them to turn up this year.
  22. Lineup 2018

Yeah he'd also probably go down much better than ATDI who've headlined NME and played 4th down main in the last 5 years.
  23. Lineup 2018

Yeah it'd be no weirder than FFDP the other year and is a p logical step after Korn. Maybe not quite as suitable as Korn but certainly not a million miles away.
