    So we are seeing:

MS: 1975 // Royal Blood // Wombats // You me at Six // Juice Wrld // Charlie XCX

    R1: Bastille // Chvrches

MS: Post Malone // Twentyone Pilots // Blossoms // Anderson.Paak

R1: Mura Masa // Billie Eilish

MS: Foo Fighters // A Day to Remember // Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes // The Distillers // The Hunna

    R1: ................ // Fredo

Bastille and CHVRCHES are opposite Foos. Think The Hunna are on Post Malone day, too?

Or it could also have come from his source if it's legit lol.

You were one of the first people to downvote @RyanS on the first page for simply asking "Do we just do this sort of thing for female artists?" and I would argue that your persistence amongst other individuals in not just letting the discussion go is part of why this has become more of a heated debate.

If you get offended that someone asks the question, then that's your own issue.  Plenty of folk have made observations about other artists that had similar polls which directly answers the question, but there's a section of male posters that can't seem to let it lie.

Because it was a stupid insinuation that the guy was sexist because he asked how many Janet Jackson songs people know lol.

I'm one of the first to call out people being sexist or anything of the sort on here (the amount of debates I've had on here about female representation at festivals is off the scale by now) but the way this thread has gone is absolutely ridiculous.

Been told Royal Blood subbing 1975, Blossoms subbing the Co's (Anderson.Paak 4th down), and ADTR subbing Foo's.

Fits what Dan Wilcox said tbf (with Anderson .Paak being a blurred out special guest on the poster he's seen). I was only taking the piss with The Wombats.

That's a pretty good way to get people to tune into his show I guess.

Exactly. Easy for him to say that, get people tuning in and then be like "See, Tame Impala couldn't headline and Anderson .Paak couldn't sub main lol, Dan Wilcox was giving out false info".

on the three threads discussing Janet Jackson - there's been a comment  about vagisil, one about getting her nips out and a general theme here that no-one would know her music (albeit that she's sold 100 million records). that is sexism. i'm generally a lurker here and have been for a fairly long time -  this is one of the more shameful reactions to anyone ever being rumoured.

Lol how do those first two (sexist) things mean the third one is sexist? You're basically saying that because some things levelled at her are sexist then absolutely everything levelled at her is sexist.

That's like saying, on the topic of Lady Gaga, "someone said they'd only watch her for a perv, someone said they'd love to have a go on Lady Gaga, and someone asked if she's still relevant enough to headline, that's sexism". No, the first two points are sexist, the final one isn't.

Didn’t somebody at one of Adele’s shows shout out ‘are you playing Glastonbury?’ and she kind of denied it which caused a bit of doubt on top of us thinking she maybe wouldn’t want to play to a crowd that huge, but other than that she was the front runner for a long time.

Aye she said she'd shit herself on stage.

Hindsight bias, also known as the knew-it-all-along phenomenon or creeping determinism, refers to the common tendency for people to perceive events that have already occurred as having been more predictable than they actually were before they took place.

Just so you know what to call it in 2 years.

I cannot wait for 2 years from now when someone claims we all knew it was The Strokes at this point and I can say screw you you all kept talking bollocks about how it won't be The Strokes.

Neil was pretty certain about it though, plus we all debated for weeks during her tour when she would be announced, we even thought it could have been at the Brits so it may not have been that early but we did expect it.

Expected it, sure, but people are talking as though we 100% knew it was them. This always happens, in 2 years we'll get to January without knowing the third headliner are people will be saying "We knew all the 2019 headliners by now", just because the act who was the favourite at the time (in this case The Strokes) ended up being the headliner, but we definitely weren't 100% on them. At this point in 2016 we definitely didn't know it was Adele for definite.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but this isn't adding up to me anymore. This is what i make of what Dan has given us so far in terms of top 5 main each day:

Friday: The 1975 // Some band // The Wombats // You Me at Six // Juice WRLD

Saturday: Post Malone // Twenty One Pilots // Blossoms // Some blurred out act // The Hunna

Sunday: Foo Fighters // ADTR // FCATRS // The Distillers // Lil Uzi Vert

So where does that leave Charli xcx? Surely she isn't playing lower than 5th main? I guess she could be 6th, but seems unlikely to me. Unless The Hunna are lower, which again seems unlikely. Doesn't seem like all of this is adding up...

Think she could easily be that low tbh. Didn't he say there's a special guest slot, too, or was that one of the blurred out ones?

    Giggs?

Seems nowhere near being a possible main stage sub to me, but then again .Paak probably is, too. Migos?

  9. Adele was nowhere near as nailed on in 2016 as everyone keeps saying. She'd never played a show that big before and there was constant talk of her not being up for it due to the size of the crowd. We weren't even certain on her until she was announced, I'm pretty sure. I remember getting the notification for the announcement and being annoyed because it was the final nail in the coffin of the possibility of Radiohead.

I have it on pretty good authority that this was supposed to be a thing, then for whatever reason ended up not happening.

Tbh I wasn't trying to say he was lying or had bad info, but what he tells us definitely doesn't end up 100% happening.

That's like choosing the tallest dwarf though.

KOL used to be a good band and still play a lot of that good stuff live (their R&L setlist last year looked good), however when I saw them back in 2013 they were unbelievably dull.

The Killers are just horrendous. Totally awful band.

As someone who has been on this board for a long time. Dan has the info. He always pops up and his lineups look or sound crazy but they always turn out 100% true.

No they don't. In 2016 he gave us 3 different lineups, all of which were wildly wrong (including LCD Soundsystem, Kanye West and Guns n Roses). Last year he told us there were two main stages with Imagine Dragons and Royal Blood playing.

In the end he gave us the correct info the day before the announcement but he isn't always 100% correct.

Having said that, I now reckon he's telling the truth about tomorrow.

Foos, 1975, 21p, Post, Tame Impala (or Royal Blood) is actually 6 headline sized acts in one year. Pretty good going if you look at it that way

    That's 5 mate.

I'm not saying it's one or the other, I just wonder if they're coming out of the world's shortest self-imposed exile to do Standon and Glastonbury is also on the table. Well, why wouldn't you?

Because, as we've said, it makes sense (and lots of bands do it) to hold off on the big festivals where you get broadcast on TV and play to tens of thousands of punters until you have new material to push. If they headline Other in 2019 they're not gonna be able to do it again in 2020 after they've got a new album out. If they turn down 2019 they'd almost definitely be given a 2020 slot instead.
