Nana Obscuri and the Baghdaddies anyone? Admittedly more Balkan, but they used to pop up everywhere in the Green Fields and Avalon during my time at Glastonbury.

I haven't been since 2014, my 20th, and have not tried for tickets since. In 2016 I retired from festivals altogether. Reading 1976 was the first and Womad 2016 the last, so after 40 years of festivals it seemed like a good time to call it a day. Sometimes I get the urge, but on the whole I don't regret my decision. My 14 year old dog has also been grateful for the last 7 kennel free years.

There was a big 40th anniversary show at the O2 Forum last year. Here are a couple of live recordings: Adrian, Skip & Ghetto Priest all live down in Ramsgate these days. They've released two great Horace Andy albums recently as well as Dub No Frontiers on Realworld. All three are worth a listen.

Festival Gas supply a lot of outdoor events, including Glastonbury, however they may only provide a replacement gas cylinder service for the food vendors onsite, which no doubt keeps them busy. You're close, but the Spa is that little blue circle just above your cross, next to Molly's Bar on the edge of the Aboretum. Your cross is on the La Di Da Loos.

Unless things have changed since I last went in 2016, there are normally only 3 performances on the Thursday. The Malmesbury Project With Amaraterra will probably open procedings on the Main Stage, then Selector will perform in one of the tents, before Fatoumata Diarawa closes the evening on the Main Stage. That's usually the way it goes.
