  1. Not a secret, tickets were openly sold. The Farm were last night, Billy Bragg is tonight. It is a combined birthday and 20th anniversery of the Working Mens Club. Even got cups printed.
  2. Shindig is good as @Skip997says, regular for us. Also think about Beatherder, may be what you want. Good mixed party crowd, good vibe but less of the Shambala middle class entitlement. It is well worth us driving to Lancashire each year.
  3. Maybe a desire either to be milked by a bloke with big hands or artificially inseminated at regular intervals?
  4. And the answer is no. I spend a lot of time running (approximate description not to be taken as any indication of speed) on site and there aint enough to eat working on 2500 to 3000 calories a day. Dead in 3 months max.
  5. nothing major changed, a few tweakments here and there. New security company but same old same old. CV field layout changed, bottom where Meadow camping was is now walled off as part of Camp Orchid. The majority of stages are the same, Origin is a bit taller and squarer but essentially the same (as in feckin big). No real changes noticed to the other main stages (Grand Central, Zenith, Engine Room, the Vault). Wrong Side of the Tracks is now at the top in the container surrounded stage (scrapyard) from last year in Area 404. Spectrum 360 is just round the corner, new stage and a circular area with central circular stage (think inside out gas tower). Dubtendo is back as an outside stage just outside 404 / side of Origin field. A few renames of stages but most recognizable from last year. Job centre is gone (seems to be part of the story but the Christmas party still happened) and Letsbe Avenue has a few tweaks in line with that. There were a number of sound systems popping up here and there on odd days, there is a Botanica Street Party set up on the corner opposite Hidden Woods. Old Town remains the same (Guinness now £6.80 in the Shamrock). Lighting and laser budget was probably the same as a small countries GDP, sound excellent and on the louder side compared with a lot of other festivals especially Glastonbury. It was all good and worth the ticket price. No Festival is cheap with that level of production.
  6. The ground is dry and fine. Sat in the sunshine on the grass. All is good.
  7. still doing the work to remove everything, not back to normal yet.
  8. Boomtown are directed by Hampshire Police to search and be strict. Hampshire Police really dont like Boomtown or the people that go, so they act a bit third reich-y. It is not the festivals decision. We are always arriving at the van gates as they open, the dogs are fresh but they are used sparingly. They tend to walk the dogs down and around the van queue and only put them in the van if they think there is a need when you get to the front. We havent been through the ped gates for years but last time we watched a couple with 1500 nos cannisters breeze through with no problem. I seem to remember that@FuzzyDunlop had a some drama a few years ago, he may be able to give a more up to date take on ped gates and searches.
  9. This will be Boomtown number 12 for us. We never get searched in any meaningful way, they might look in the door for appearances but only that. They decide in the queue who is getting searched, two old gits in a van dont seem to warrant anything particular. The 4 bucket heads in front of us last year looked shifty and were turned over. Dog gave a strong indication and they were taken off. They have a casual chat while you are waiting and seem to decide if you need a tickle. We don't fit the bill so far. The dogs are real working dogs, i was talking to the handlers last year. No one seems to have any difficulty getting stuff in. Boomtown is worth it, last year was better than the farm.
  10. No regrets over choosing QOTSA over Reg. Excellent and i am not sure the Other has been louder. Glastonbury town would have got some of that, especially the last 2 numbers.
  11. It has never been a thing. Hear this every year but it is bullshit. There are 5,000 local tickets from 135,000. If you think sunday headliners are chosen on that basis, i have a bridge to sell you.
  12. Young fathers in Silver Hayes crew bar.

bottom right below Woodsies, there is a pile of fencing in front of it now so can't see it
  16. wasn't planning to, I will be escorting a certain ginger lady to the gate from our house.
  17. it was the principle of playing golf I was getting at, I never took him as a potential local Councillor with tartan trousers
  18. our special on the ground correspondent has reported, soft grass but firm ground in the Binnie's camp.
  19. aside from not wanting to engage with chatGPT, i use a Haiku generator to give a structure and then change words and order to fit what I want to say. They aren't Japanese high art, just easily formed messages.
  20. it rained, it will be fine.
  21. “home isn’t always a place” said the Diver, “home is where you love” said the Cow “and it appears we all love the Farm”. Temperature at 0717 am is 15.5 C and humidity is 92%. Rainfall in last 24 hours is recorded as about 10mm in The Ram Jam Jar. It is up to Michael's ankles, he is de-laminating from the Aldi Frosties packet and won’t survive another night. The ground has a bit of give but that is all. I blame all those concerned about tent pegs, next year the massacre will have to be more impressive to assuage the gods. The ribbon tower has its party hat on, it is Tuesday after all. The Well is damp but only from falling moisture, groundwater wouldn’t show after that little and would take some time to rise. The diver left at short notice yesterday, apparently there was a chance to see the Titanic and as a professional underwater dude it was too good an opportunity to pass up. Not heard from him since. The duck is happy that their undercarriage is moist. Here are the bar prices from the Bread and Roses. Finally something useful. Pilton Pat is indicating Red Gate, where you will be entering site. Cloud 8/8. The sky gloomy grey, Leyland Trade Smart Light Grey, 750ml, £12 at B and Q. It will be improving later. Pokey Twins still read no.1 on the moist-o-meter. The ground has sucked it all off, no apparent change in moisture levels 2 inches below surface. The building work has stopped as the builders were offed in a Tarantino-esque style yesterday. A series of shallow graves marks the end of our journey. There was weather of different kinds, that happens each year and is not meant to be taken seriously. This nonsense is done to try and give a bit of perspective, life is hard but there is light if you look for it. Be safe everyone, see you on the Farm. Haiku Meandering thoughts Heavy bags, queuing, waiting Here at last, our home
