  1. How do you know they didn't? They may well have 'gone for' both The Roses and GNR, and failing to get them lead to the believable situation of having to move FOB after they'd told them they'd be co-headlining into a slot where in reality they aren't and then come up with the cockamamey five headliner bollocks. There is no defined co-headliner or sub set length, some subs have got longer than co-headliners in the past. Whether you consider them co-headliners or not depends on how much you buy into FRs PR; I suppose technically if the organisers want to bill and advertise them as co-headliners then they are, but in reality they don't fill the one main criteria of a co-headliner at a duel site - alternating the top two spots. Anyway here's what I came here for, bit late but: HOPE EVERYONE GOING HAS A LOVELY TIME THIS YEAR!
  2. Seems harsh. He's hardly banging a drum, he was asked a question and answered it honestly. I'm sure if he'd followed the request to 'go elsewhere' he'd be accused of being arrogant. He had no explanation for what happened and consequently couldn't identify at that time how to explain what he could have done, his honesty is better than the usual bollocks managers trot out in that situation. Anyway, your team won and won well, don't be angry. Be a good winner.
  3. Seem to be refreshingly honest: “If you expect an explanation I probably have to disappoint you. An explanation would mean things are logical or tactical or at least in moments you see where a game goes to the other side but none of this happened. “Everything felt perfect for a long time and I was very proud what I saw from my team, but things like this happen in soccer. “Ultimately we were hit by a late sucker punch from the opposition. Shit happens.”
  4. I bet Phil Thompson has spontaneously combusted, after years of going on about famous European nights at Anfield that never existed/materialised to finally get one has probably sent him to another dimension.
  5. I think the L is for Lost
  6. Probably, but I'm not sure how that helps the fan's situation.
  7. True, hard to believe but there must be posters here who don't remember the celebrity match before the Cup Final.
  8. I can't believe we all overlooked this zinger.
  9. It was converted at considerable taxpayer cost for multi-use, but I think that was before the Rugby WC. So unless they didn't use some of the features (the main one being moving the stands over the athletics track and closer to the pitch) I'd imagine it will be pretty much the same for West Ham as it was at the Rugby WC.
  10. Yes, but it was made a permanent decision in order to maximise use (and claw back cost) of the new stadium. I don't doubt that the clubs themselves also get some benefit. Or at very least the need for revenue killed the possibility of it ever going back to the old way.
  11. What do you think they did before everything was at Wembley? They will still have nominated available stadiums, but they won't use them unless they absolutely have to due to smaller capacities. Anyway the point here is not that it should be moved from Wembley, that it should never have been at Wembley in the first place.
  12. Nah, for football it's not a great stadium.
  13. Well yes all in it was a terrible use of taxpayer money, but West Ham can't be blamed for that. It's galling compared to what the club did eventually pay, but again expecting a football club to voluntarily pay more than they have to is unrealistic. And you may has misread the bit about the stadium.
  14. I'm not convinced the taxpayer has done particularly well out of it, but yes the fans will suffer. It's not a great stadium with crummy public transport access and uninspiring local facilities.
  15. The logical alternative is a neutral venue in the North, although the days of logic trumping income for the FA are long gone.
