    Helloo,

I was looking for some advice - from some experienced Pukklepoppers - we have tickets for the Friday but are coming to Belgium for a few days Thursday-Sunday. We were thinking of staying in Brussels - does any one have any experience in getting too-from Brussels late at night - what times do the trains end - any ideas about taxi ? or a train/taxi combo ?

    Thanks !

Hi and welcome to he Pukkelpop thread.

Late and night there are no trains, so I think that the best idea is to try to find a room for friday night in Hasselt and then move on saturday morning to Brussels.

There is a free shuttle bus from the festival to Hasselt that works perfectly at night. Besides, your train journey will be free with the Pukkelpop ticket (you will receive in early summer a link from you can download your train tickets).

Maybe will be cheaper a room in Hasselt than the taxi trip + the hotel night in Brussels.

Feel free to ask everything you need. Here there are really nice people as @Semprini, @DDave, @Trufflehound... that have attended the festival lot of times.

As I told you last week they were waiting for a medium/big artist for Sunday and now they have the green light to announce it.

Friday and Saturday names are most of them small, do not expect too much.

Selling out Sunday daytickets has been the logical plan in PKP Headquarters in the last weeks.

    See you tomorrow 11am

I bet that Idles are playing 3rd down in the Main Stage on Sunday once their day in Rock Werchter is sold out.

QOTSA / The Offspring / Idles makes sense.

I think Raye/ editors / Tom Odell / MØ is a nice undercard. Liam Gallagher as a headliner is very weak but they can probably pull it off for a UK audience as he’s headlining Reading festival too.

I think the undercard will shape up nicely, but it’s certainly the weakest set of headliners that Sziget has had for a long time. Assuming skrillex is added too, it will be 7 headliners, so there will be one co-headline, like last year.

Fred again / Skrillex / Stormzy / Liam Gallagher / Sam Smith

so we are only waiting now for the female headliner to complete the line up.

given Lana is ruled out, there are only a few options left who are touring this year on other festivals:

•Doja cat has finished her European run by end of July but has nothing booked during Sziget, so is available but unlikely.
•Dua Lipa - headlining in Europe in July, but not august. I think she’s possibly the most likely candidate.

•Sza- headlining European shows but performing a festival in Canada a few days before Sziget, available during Sziget. She’s unlikely but possible.

•Ice spice- got a run of shows in July, but not august. Possibly not big enough to headline but could co-headline.

Paramore are busy during Sziget in Vienna and Olivia Rodrigo is also away in America, so they are also ruled out.

i think it will be dua lipa , but it could be SZA, in my opinion.

I would be shocked if there was no female headliner this year.

After analyzing how fast Pukkelpop tickets have been sold, I think that we are understimating how big are nowadays Fred Again and Sam Smith.

Combi soldout since Monday. Friday will be soldout tonight (less than 1000 tickets left). Saturday will be soon enough (90% sold). Only Sunday is the bad boy in the story but understandable as it's a classic festival day with QOTSAThe OffspringRise AgainstThe Smile.

I've bought a combiticket because of the Sunday. I cannot be the only one... or maybe yes? 🙂

  5. I only hope that Sugababes get a 5 or 6pm slot at Dance Hall and do not clash with the last 2 bands of Main Stage and Marquee.

It would be a really fun act to see live but I want to see at least 2 complete sets and and half between QOTSA, The Smile, Rise Against and Offspring.

Yeah straight away, but I know some people had a 15 minute delay or so. Great that you're going!

24 hours and I have not received any email from Pukkelpop… so strange…

Just listened to them, this is amazing. Went on their social media pages, found they play in a bar in Prague in 2 days. Got tickets immediately

Enough Is Never Enough is one of the best songs Ive listened in the last years

I'm surprised to see Rise Against on the Marquee. I expected them on Main Stage with The Offspring. I hope they won't play too late, would be stupid to clash with The Offspring...

Marquee and Main Stage wont clash but I think that you will have to leave 15 minutes before Rise Against end to get a good place for watching Offspring.

What I am thinking is that if they programm rock acts in the Marquee (stage that clashes with Backyard), maybe they will make this stage dissapear and we will get a strong Marquee rock day similar to 2017, 2018 and 2019.

  9. QOTSA is the best rock act that a festival can book nowadays, imo. Their last álbum is awesome.

The Offspring used to be one of my fav bands in the 90’s in my punk & skate days, along with Bad Religion, NOFX, Millencolin and Pennywise. But yes, as Dave said is not an inspiring booking, I would have preferred Korn instead.

It would honestly be cheap to have The Offspring sub at Pukkelpop... I guess he didn't speak about QOTSA because it seems clear since a while they gonna play at Pukkelpop (hopefully).

CDW and Goldband are also really cheap options.

This will mean a strong undercard, I think.

Think you're right. I thought that they might book her to close the main on Sunday but would mean an earlier finish. Saturday till 2am seems more fitting again.  Sam Smith to close the main on Sunday?

Sam Smith + Goldband would be the weakest headline combo in PKP history

I think it's just more an educated guess than insider information. Jorja Smith played the Marquee last time so suspect she will be in there or Main as she's not really a Dance Hall act. Think they will pair QOTSA and CDW together so that might be who we get tomorrow.

Any reason why no one thinks Lana Del Ray is a contender anymore? Would be the obvious choice for the headliner PKP has that Lowlands doesn't, which is often the booking pattern e.g The Killers last year.

I can see them brave enough to jump The Offspring as subheadliners in 2024.

  13. 14 hours ago, DDave said:

Don't think so mate. Too many options around for them to be a sub I think. Posters on the Lowlands board think they'll be a head/sub there.

Dave, are you still sure that Goldband is not taking a subheadliner status?

Reading insider information on festileaks I think that QOSTA, CDW and Goldband are taking the highest slots at Main Stage. Only one big name remaining. Maybe Sam Smith for making the headline acts even worse?

Insider also confirmed The Smile & Soulwax for Marquee headline and Peggy Gou, Jorja Smith and Skrillex for Dance Hall headline spots. These are all good bookings.

Next week we will have a better overview of the situation. This year there were so many good names in the August circuit, so not an excuse for booking 100% repeated bands for the headline spots.
