  1. Electronica/Dance

Loved the version of "Talk Amongst Yourselves" and there were a couple in there that I didn't recognise but "Xpander" went off, as I'm sure it did in London. Easily one of the best tunes of the last twenty years.
  2. Arcadia - London

I've got a Saturday ticket without really knowing what it's all about. Obviously the Spider is the main attraction but does anyone know if there are any other stages? Also, I know it's not in the stadium itself but I'm finding it difficult to picture where it's going to be held. Anyone got any ideas?
  3. Secret Solstice Festival 2018

Bonnie Tyler and Slayer. Now there's two names I never thought I'd be mentioning in the same sentence
  4. Mad Cool 2018

I only went for the Friday last year and it hammered down all day. I got to the festival around 6pm and finally the sun broke through in spells but it remained dry, thankfully. Listening to the locals say that this weather was very strange for this time of year didn't help much, the last thing you expect from a festival in Madrid in July is the need to take a poncho! One saving grace is that the entire festival was decked out in fake grass (which you can see in the above picture) which I've never seen before, but it was inspired. Does anyone know if the new site will be the same?
  5. Plastic Bottle Ban?

Some clarity on whether it means a total ban on punters bringing plastic bottles in and/or vendors selling them would be good but we have just under 500 days to come up with alternatives, if necessary. Better than dropping it on us in June 2019. Hopefully, me having to deal with this issue next year means I have a ticket and I'd gladly take that
  6. Electronica/Dance

I'll answer my own question. It was great! Hardly anyone was seated tbh and the front row was practically a free for all
  7. Electronica/Dance

Off to see Sasha: Refracted in Manchester on Sunday. Anyone know what to expect? Being totally seated feels a bit strange
  8. Lineup 2018

How do you steal an entire ATM with 30K in it in broad daylight? Just another one of TITP's mysteries...
  9. Lineup 2018

I remember a time when I thought that Reading was the centre of the festival universe. Then the lineups started to move away from my musical taste (getting older didn't help!) around 2010 so I started looking further afield and worked out that it was almost the same price to get a flight and go to a festival in Europe (my Mad Cool weekend ticket cost me £132 this year plus £60 return flights). I get why Reading and Leeds is so important to a certain demographic, especially at that time of year but my advice is have a look what else is on outside the UK. You won't regret it. I'd love to know what was going through FR booking agent's mind thinking that Fallout Boy and Panic At The Disco were headline material though. So completely out of touch and a sad state of affairs for what was once one of the great festivals anywhere, not just in the UK.
  10. What are you doing instead of Glastonbury this year?

Festivals: Love Saves The Day, Arcadia, Mad Cool (Madrid) and Mysteryland (Amsterdam). Gigs (so far): Sasha Refracted, Paul Draper, Feeder, IDLES, Dreadzone, Skindred, Twisted Wheel, Machine Head. Plus a week in Ibiza in July.
  11. Mad Cool 2018

I think Slaves are missing from the Clashfinder. At the moment I have to say that clashes are minimal. Which was nice.
  12. Mad Cool 2018

Nah, he's at number 13, behind Daddy Yankee
  13. Mad Cool 2018

The way they're going I wouldn't be surprised if they got Syd Barrett too...
  14. Mad Cool 2018

I'm still amazed that I paid £132 for a weekend ticket. Ridiculous value for money
  15. Mad Cool 2018

Personally, give me Underworld on Friday night against Arctic Monkeys and I'll happily accept any other clashes
