Noticed you're from Motherwell. Isn't there usually a bus from Hamilton Bus station to the Leeds Festival? There used to be anyway.

We'll be heading down from Glasgow. We'll be gettin a train. You can normally get one to Leeds train station then just get a shuttle bus to the site.

I'm going down but staying at my pals cousins in Liverpool first on the Wednesday (travelling by train) then we are travelling over by car from Liverpool to Leeds on the Thursday, so glad we are travelling by car means I get more booze in, well I hope!! Travelling back to Liverpool on the Monday and staying there then train back to Glasgow on Wednesday!

I think we'll be getting a train from Motherwell, you'd be best doing the same. Trains only sell tickets 3 months in advance so cant get tickets just yet, I don't think it'll be much more than £30 if you book asap.
rexclark81
Apr 8 2008, 03:40 PM
I'd definately get a Train over a Bus. You can get up and go for a walk on a train. There's more than one toilet and most importantly you can drink a carry out on a train no problems!

i'll probs be gettin the train from edinbugger. trains are so much better, can get up and walk and have a carryout and there quicker. buses are pain in the arse although marginally cheaper. and trains arnt afflicted by traffic!!!

The trains go from Glasgow Central down to Leeds. I think it just depends on what train you get if it's a direct one or sometimes you have to change at York.

You can also get the national express coach from glasgow to leeds bus station for £38, or a direct one to leeds fest for £70 (both singles) depends how much you wanna pay.
Or find someone else on here that you can lift share with?!

Yeah, you should. but you can't
It says 12 weeks in advance, thus I figured 3 months, thinking you'd be able to book the now, but we must still be a week or so out.
I'll be checking back often and onceI get mine sorted I'll let yous know.

Do you have a ticket office at the station? It might be worth going in there and asking what the best deal they can give you is. I managed to get a return to Newcastle for £9.75 (usually £40) a few weeks ago on a ticket called 'Student Getaway', even though i'm not a student anymore.... but anyway!

Don't really know caus my mates organising it but you should try in Central station and ask them for the cheapest ticket. The one we're gettin is a direct from Glasgow to Leeds.

Got the bus (Parks of Hamilton) last year to Leeds. Got on at Glasgow but it stopped off in Hamilton (could have had extra 30mins in bed

), Carlisle and Preston before finally arriving in Manchester. Had to wait for a National express bus from Manchester to Leeds then get the shuttle bus. The shuttle buses stop at the bus and train station though. Can't remember how much it cost but wasnt much more than £30 for the return (the return was direct from Leeds to Glasgow).
Had a mate who got the train on the Fri morning and back up to Glasgow on the mon. He was home well before the rest of us. Prob best getting the train if you like to get home fast after a fest (ie hungover, wanting a shower, etc).

Ive gone the whole hog and booked a luxury coach to take lots of Glaswegians down to Leeds, i still have the ability to back out but if your interested then the prices should be about 38.50 rtn this will take 6.5 hours with a stop or two, you cant stop for a smoke on the train which i hate and me and a few want to go down with a big load of people. The more that go the better, if your interested then send me an e-mail ok.
