Did any of you's get diverted off the A9 near Kincraig on the way home? You could see the guys car at one point in the diversion, turns out the 18 year old driver hit a minibus with his car. The car was a total mess.

That is one scary road, it's about time they did something about it or this could be a yearly occurrence after Rockness has finished. Makes you want to get the train. unsure.gif

i was going down the road to glasgow yesterday to see velvet revolver and there was a crash at the spean bridge turn off just north of dalwhinnie. looked like all were ok however the cars were a complete mess.

shortly after that there was some numpty over took me at over 80 (in a 60) and had to cut in sharpish to avoid on-coming traffic.

ended up diverted at kincraig today on the way home and could see the accident and it looked bad. back on the A9 another mental driver overtaking where they shouldn't.

yes - the road's bad but taking risks is what causes the accidents.

thoughts with all the families...

People are always bolting down that road - although to be fair, a few times I've seen an undercover cop car chasing after them a few seconds later!

To be honest though, the A9 is a massive improvement over the A96 (Aberdeen - Inverness) - always accidents on that road.

i am by no means a fast driver or anything, but alot of the accidents that happen on these bad roads are caused by frustration of being stuck behind a slow driver on roads where there is no real safe overtaking points. You get stuck behind someone being over cautious sitting at 40mph and you find yourself overtaking on points where you wouldn't normally do it. I think there should be a minimum speed limit as well as a maximum....... some people are just rediculous like. NOTE i am in no way condoning speeding but just offering an alternative opinion!

this is a tragedy though and such a waste of a young life.
