What's with the urge to try and justify liking rock? with the i've liked rock since i was 10 crap! so what! you like it now that's all that matters! even that's not important cos the dance tent at leeds is amazing!
going without parents at 16 is not that big a deal! i was at my first festival at 16, it's not dangerous!

just dont crowdsurf into me and ask me for your untied shoe that you lost 5 rows back, or claim to be really rocking and hard because you can skate off a set of stairs and have a linkin park hoodie.
not directed at anyone in particular, just the 16yr old stereotype.

My parents will be glad to get rid of me for a weekend!
I'm 17, (18 by fest-time), even if I was 14 they wouldn't care!
HasH, what a great birthday you'll have!
Wish mine was on that weekend then I could get someone to buy my ticket as a present!

yea i went to the leeds fest last year when i was sixteen with some of my mates. 99.9% of the people who go just want to enjoy the weekend, so you will be ok. its just some stupid w*nkers who think its funny to burn toilets who make up the 0.1%

yeah i was 16 when i first went and it was great, as long as your relatively mature eg: dont expect luxuries like clean toilets etc/dont think its funny to riot then you shud be fine !

My first year was when I was 15, total mind blowing - went with quite a few mates though but apart from the "riots" there was no trouble, just enjoy it, my first time was by far the best!!!!!

yeah get what your saying
"man when my mum gave birth to me i was a rock fan, i popped out with a skateboard

, and a hoodie and shit, yeah man, and jackass rules man, cool, papa roach are dope man."
Relax! the point of leeds fest ( i think ) is for lots of differant genres to merge into a weekend of fun, i mean look at last year we have nofx, aphex twin, prodigy, andrew wk (swing) etc etc.
i went to leeds for the day in 2000 with some friends, thus the name, and got my arse kicked, worth every second of it :0) as long as u actually have fun, enjoy what you NATURALLY enjoy i.e. no washing for 3-4 days etc etc then you'll be fine. You wont have a good time if your going because its "cool" if this is your first time, then maybe you should go for the day, see if you enjoy it.
ah well enjoy, and for everyones information, yes when i was younger i had a phobia of basil brush, fin

My First time at Leeds was last year, i was 16 and had the best weekend ever. Its so kool just to sit back and relax, especially after the stress of the GCSE results just before we went. Anyway, this year should be better, we all know what to take (food and drink - wise) Cant wait!

yeah its nice to go after getting your GCSE results, having nothing to worry about. it was my first time last year, me and loads of mates went, it was amazing, the best weekend of my life! can't wait for this year, so far going by myself tho, i'm the only one out of all my mates who's actually ordered there tickets! heh heh. not to keen on the line up tho so far, hmm don't know what anyone else thinks.

i loved it last year (my first year). Went to pick up my GCSEs at about 10am, and was on the train at half past. in my opinion its a win/win situation:
1) if u do well, go away without parents and party (like its .....)
2) if u f**k up, go away without parents and drown those sorrows away...

i agree completely, i did the same last year - headed up after i got my results. it's such a good release of stress after the anxiety of waiting for that little piece of paper (and don't lie, we all felt at least a little bit anxious!).
Most of my friends went to a little house party after they got their results and didnt have as good a time as my best mate and i did! it was absolutly fantastic and this year is gonna be just as good!!
To everyone that's going this year, have an amazing time

I first went aged 15 in 2000. The thought of my parents at a festival makes me laugh. That's a sight I will (fortunately) never see! Although my friend has a really cool dad and he's going with his own mates this year to see Metallica. Old fogies rock! There may be advantages to having your 'rents there... like getting a lift down instead of lugging your heavy bags and tent all the way from the station, and scrounging money off them whenever u run out of beer! Hmmm...

or maybe not!

yeah,my first fest was when i was 16 too. thing is it seems as if the stuff i used to do when i was 16 is way different to what 16 year olds do now. i mean when i was 16 there never seemed any reason to be all pretentious and like certain music coz it was "cool", or wear certain clothes to look like "a mosher"! i dont know if any of you lot know leeds corn exchnge but just because it happens to contain several shops of an "alternative" nature, masses of young teens hang around there in all their carefully picked items of clothing( carefully picked as in nothing can be the slightest bit "high street" or "normal") thinking that they all look different but ironically all look the bloody same! and that is why im so cynical of younger peeps heading to the fest coz i see it as something to boost their "rocky" status. but hey, i could be so very wrong but sometimes its hard to see past the strereotype wen it smacks u in the face everyday! anyway,it doesnt apply 2 every16 yr old so HasH, I HOPE U HAVE AN ACE BIRTHDAY!!!!!
