That would be an awful lineup. I cant imagine how sombre the mood would be by the time Coldplay came on.

Are Travis even around anymore???

Not heard it yet, am sure they will play a lot of new stuff at Loopallu (I take it they have a new album out soon?)

Probably go and watch them anyway..

It's all wild speculation! Keane would not be on after Travis... and really cannot see Keane on the main stage at all.
In saying that I'm sure I heard the new Keane single this morning and sounded ok.

As for the rest of your headliners... I think Franz are the most likely. Everyone is saying Coldplay / Oasis... but realistically I don't see both playing.

Edit to add... I reckon Hot Chip and the Gossip on NME stage quite high up the bill.
Arctic Monkeys perhaps to do an afternoon slot on main stage.
No doubt Biffy will be back for the 19th year in a row.
Morrissey... my dream act to be there.
Vampire Weekend on NME stage.

Think we will see a big US urban type act... Estelle, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg type theme also (but not headlining).

Lol, Daily Records prediction is Radiohead, Oasis and AC/DC laugh.gif !!

I'm not being funny but why would you seriously doubt it? A few years ago I would have thought it unlikely that T inb the Park would book AC/DC but with Live Nations involvement and a band like RATM headlining this year - a band whom this time last year I said would never play T on these boards - d'oh - I dont think its completely out of th question. Especially when you consider AC/DCs Scottish roots and affinity with Scottish crowds.

Would Live Nation being involved not mean it would lean toward the acts they have on their books? Like U2, Madonna, Metallica, etc...

If it did, it would more than justify my decision to make this years T my last T.

if they played (hopefully not) they would surely be headlineing again

AC/DC would be incredible, and it's perfectly feasible.

AC/DC are semi retired and their tour is world wide. I'd reckon that's about 2 or 3 dates in the UK at max. They have a huuuuuuggeeee connection with Donnington (so that's Download). They also have a nice little past with the Reading and Leeds festival. You think they'd choose T as probably being their last ever UK festival appearance (which it most likely will be after this tour, can't see them doing huge tours again). Seriously doubt it.

Probably either Download or R/L and a couple of big shows after these fests.

To be fair I would say that their connection to Scotland (given that the Young brothers are in fact from Scotland originally) is just as huge as any connection to Donnington. In fact I think that if it was to be their last ever UK festival appearance then it would be highly appropriate that it took place in Scotland. Also I would bet serious money that even if their UK tour was only 2 or 3 dates that at least one date would be in Scotland.

Nooooooo.

They'l play a big show in Scotland, it won't be T.

The pinacle of their career is the performance at Donnington, it's what sums an AC/DC live show up. They are massively famous for putting on one of the best shows ever at Donnington. They also have connections to Reading and Leeds. They won'tr play T where the majority of the crowd would be thinking abut the Gallagher brothers.

Fair enough thats your opinion but I dont think that AC/DC can be ruled out of headlining. I have seen them 10 or 11 times including 2 times at Donnington (once my first ever festival) and I have to say that they always seem to put on their best shows in Scotland.

AC/DC are possible. They will no doubt play a scottish date. The only place that could hold them would be T or a stadium. Rage made T the scottish leg of their European tour this year. Greenday did the same in 2005.

Don't see why AC/DC couldn't do the same. They have a huge crossover appeal, many people I know dislike metal in general, but still love AC/DC. Reading/Leeds might have a better chance of getting them than Download. More money, bigger audience etc.

Realy think they might do Milton Keynes and Hampden/Murryfield instead thou. If a big metal band turns up at T, my moneys on Metallica. Wouldn't write AC/DC off completely thou.
