Daft Punk should headline next year!!!

NME Stage, Friday night - perfect slot!!

Been listening to Alive 2008 all morning and has really got me in the mood.

If you've heard the Alive album, they arent going to suprise you next year, they have been playing the exact same set for the past 18months. I had a bootleg of their Coachella performance from 2006, and it was the exact same as the Rockness gig last year, and the same as the Alive 2007 album.

They are an outstanding live act, I just wouldnt want to hear the exact same thing all over again.

If they were to play, they would sound better in a tent, i would have thought.

Yes, they would be better in a tent, but no tent would be big enough to cope with the amount of people who'd want to see them.

At Rockness, they had to remove the side of one of the tents to let people in - this won't happen at T.

They'll headline NME, if not Main.

Yeah, but the Clash Tent at Rockness is just King Tuts Tent with a different sign above it.

The Slam tent is far, far bigger.

You lose so much of the sound/feeling when you're outside, especially for big, loud subbass-filled electronic acts, with lightshows. The Chems this year at the NME stage felt really lacklustre, the performace felt totally empty. I'm sure if it was in a tent the atmosphere would have been a lot better.

Do Daft Punk play their own stuff or a mix? I cant think of one song of theirs that i like, i actually hate most of the work they produce. I used to think Da Funk was ok but its irritating now. Around the world is bearable.

Its a mix of their own stuff. Its quite well done the way it flows and builds up. But if you dont like the singles, you probably wont like the mix! The lightshow is excellent though...

See people who like Daft Punk, do you like songs such as One More Time and Aerodynamic? I think they are horrible!! Each to their own, but people always recommend trying to see Daft Punk but from what ive heard of them, i really wouldnt like it. Fair enough the light show might be nice, but i hate their sound.

Yup I love One More Time and Aerodynamic. I pretty much love everything they have done.

If you dont like their sound then fair enough. Everyone has different tastes!

Yeah i agree, i just thought maybe i was missing something with them but i suppose they are just not for me.

I like daft punk but i dont like One More Time, i can listen to the first minute or so, but it gets to repetitive, see also Robot Rock and Around the World, the latter being criminally repetitive.

I enjoy the live show more than their production albums.

you might like some of the songs on homework. like rock n roll, and rollin and scratching.
