Anyone else think its turned into the poor man's Radio One?

I used to love listening to XFM, but its been really gash over the summer, with Des Clarke replacing Heather Suttie and Susan Hay nowhere to be heard. It just really annoys me that its Danny Wallace now on Saturday afternoon, the guy just isn't funny. The music they played used to be really good, it wasn't samey, then for like 3 weeks straight they played Monster by the Automatic, constantly played KateNash, and yesterday played the Hoosiers

Anyone else annoyed or just me?

i noticed its got alot more pop when i listen 2 it at work! but its still the best channel!

not listened to it in about a year. used to listen to it in work, even although it was all just mainstream indie, you'd get the occasional decent song. it was the best of a bad bunch really.

yeah! but count yourself lucky you get a chance to listen to XFM (i prefer virgin tho XFM just repeats itself over n over agen!) all i'm allowed to listen to at work is real radio - omg honestly theres only so many times i can listen to that gash without wantin to kill myself! lol

i hate real radio. it's just adverts and folk talking shite, with a song about once an hour. and they only seem to have about 4 songs in their playlist.

i don't know how anyone can find robin and cat funny. they're shite.

XFM Manchester is good

XFM is a load of shite. It was good when it used to be Beat 106 because that was a station that actually deviated itself from other stations. I remember when they were rebranding the station and some bird stopped me on Sauchiehall St. and said "it's great, no more "bang bang" music." The stupid thing is that the dance music it played made it different to the other stations and by becoming just like any other station I'm sure it must have lost a load of listeners. Now XFM is just another shite generic 'play what's popular' station.

it is no longer just xfm scotland. our shows are slowly being replaced by generic xfm shows and therefore losing their appeal and individuality. jim gellatly does a great show. the rock show also used to provide something different.
when they got rid of diamond on the breakfast it kind of went downhill and began trying to conform to all other xfm stations. pop is not why we started listening to it. i have actually stopped listening as much as i used to. simply because it is not as unique as it used to be. such a pity!

Bring back Beat106!
mrcat1990
i remeber before the xfm scotland an manchester stations existed and i used to listen to the one in london on digital radio an it was great but there all shite now and just play "indie" like pigeon detectives the kooks etc dull as f**k

I hate that Julian guy who does the morning show. I only started listening because I got sick of Chris Moyles repeating himself almost every morning, but this Julian tool is even worse, its the same crap banter every morning.

It really winds me up when instead of saying 'local call rate' he puts a gap in the middle of local and says is "low cal" - I see what you did there Julian, its like a low calorie diet, i appreciated the play on words. once. about a year ago. now f**k off you tedious c**t.

I cant understand why when they play "new music" (see - old music you heard months ago, but the radio station have just been paid to play it) they do a jingle and someone says "new music... rising". why does he say "rising"?

I can remember the day I heard XFM Manchester & Scotland were getting shut down. I was biggrin.gif . Then the owner changed his mind. I was sad.gif

I hate xfm.

Pish as well. Although the GB Experience has some decent tunes now and again and is good for a laugh.
tonyonekenobi
6 Music seems to the only decent radio these days...

Sunday nights quality.. Stuart Marconie's Freak Zone and Guy Garvey's Finest Hour.. Always top tunes...
StuFos
Internet Radio is where it's at anyway.

www.di.fm has to be the best for the biggest variety of dance music.
tinthep2006
Xfm is pish! They play one type of music which consists of the latest new bands which are just the new type of boybands. Then Half the radio station is taken over by people presenting from London! If i wanted to list to the latest results in the premier league and how braw a day it is down there I'd listen to radio 1. It's no XFM Scotland anymore.
XFM back catalogue thing they play when there is no DJ is just about bearable.

Beat 106 was gid.

rock radio was ok at first, we've listened to it since it started in our work now i really hate that shit. thousands of rock classics out there but they have a playlist of 50 tunes. i would turn it over but big barry likes it
