Here's my problem - I have a weekend ticket and I'm looking to set up my tent on thursday morning. The problem being I cant stay all day thursday, so I would have to come back again Friday morning.

My question is this - What would be the best method to do this?

Can I use the pick up/drop off point to park up temporarily whilst I set my tent up, then return to my car and go home? Or would I have to use the 'long stay' car parks to park up in, and then repeat this again Friday morning? If I would have to choose the latter option, how feasible is it to leave the campsite so early on a Thursday morning whilst everybody else is trying to enter the campsite car parks?

should be fine getting out thursday morning, I think red gate 2 has always been exit only back onto the a64

yep, it's easy to drive back out. I did last year when the weds was bloody freezing (went to get some warmer stuff). It's just getting back in that is a ball ache
