Ripped Off
First attempt to get tickets for my son and his girlfirend and I paid over £400 for the weekend tickets from www.ticket2bthere.com I found out Saturday evening via an email they don't have the tickets. I have done some research over the weekend and found out lots of information. I guess I have learned an expensive lesson. I have a few questions:

[list=1]

[*]Do you have any advice on how to persue these cowboys
[*]Does any one have any information on them at all - I am going to collate a file of all information for the authorities
[*]Does anyone know at this late stage where I could try and get some tickets without being ripped off again?!

try going to the box office early in the morning on the wednesday or thursday depending on which day you want to go, or try scarletmist

Either try ebay/scarlet mist or send your son down early on thurs and get him to buy them at the box office. As for the scam artists - I'm very sorry to hear about it. If they were paid for on your credit card then you can contact your company to apply for a refund.

Other than that this forum has some very good (wannabe) spies who I'm sure will fill this thread with info soon smile.gif

sorry to hear that, but my god why do people go on these bloody sites. I was in the same predicament as your friends so i searched facebook market place last week. Now I have paid for a ticket and i am pretty sure i wont be scammed. (face value aswell!)

Do you mean ticket2bthere.com (without the 's')? [Edit] My mistake, it appears the same guy owns both names (ticket2bthere and tickets2bthere) but one of them is just down at the moment.

If so, contact information for the owner of the domain name is available from the WhoIs service: http://www.whois.net/whois_new.cgi?d=ticke...ere&tld=com

That gives you a name, address and phone number, which should be a good start in reporting the fraud to the relevant authorities.

ran it through google does no sound good to say the least. Same telephone number is listed to about 5 other 'companies' selling tickets. Also the whois brings up the registy to jamacia

Best option is to concentrate on getting your money back. If credit card, then yes you will be covered by the card company. But also, if it's a bank debit card there is a way you can get your money back through the bank, it takes a while but ask them and don't be fobbed off. ( think its known ans an indemnity transaction??)
In the last few days next week there will be tickets available at face value. Scarlet Mist, Box Office even Ebay, just make sure you are handing over cash for a ticket in a face to face transaction.

i wouldn't bother ringing them up if this forum story is anything to go by...

http://talkingpoint.allaboutyou.com/showthread.php?t=365081

as i posted on a similar thread here, the official leeds/reading website lists its official vendors, so in future make sure u don't use anything other than these: seetickets, lastminute.com, ticketline, ticketmaster, gigantic, ticketqueen and voyagenbus.com

with regards to getting mote tickets, as pja92 said, try scarlet mist untill wednesday, then get there early to queue up for tickets. you'll be given wristbands though, so make sure its your son and his gf that go and collect them!

Whois Queries are usually only any good for finding info about real comanies. Many scammers just put fake addresses on there, they re never checked and most registars dont care, if they get the $$$ then thats that.

Your best bet is with your bank. If you paid via credit card you have a good chance of being able to perform a "chargeback" (Where the transaction is basically reversed). Speak to you bank about it (or you credit card company).

My trick is - anything dodgy use a CC else use a debit card. CC's are much easier to fight over old transactions than debit cards are. £400 is a lot of money to lose, your bank may give some of it back out of good will, they did it to me a while ago just 'cos I was persistant and am a good customer w/ savings.

If you cant get anything from them then youre pretty much snookered... Besides battleing it out with the www.ticket2bthere.com people.
