Every year ive been to leeds ive taken the car, but this year i dont have one so we are taking the national express! just got a couple of questions for anyone in the know!
We have early entry, so does anybody know how often the shuttle buses are on the wednesday? and what time they start?
And on the monday, we need to get away quite early so we are going to book a coach for about 11oclock, are there usually big queues for the shuttles on the monday morning? and how long does it usually take? im guessing it will take longer on the monday with traffic.
Cheers!

Do the shuttle buses from Leeds railway station cost money? How much?

They start running at about 1 on the Wednesday (from Leeds, never been from York before). Expect queues on the Monday, make sure especially at that time that you give yourself well over an hour to get into Leeds. We normally don't leave until after 12, and still expect to queue then.
Its about £8 return if i remember correctly, the challenge comes in actually still having the return ticket on the Monday though.
Got a lift last year, think i prefer the buses, theres no queuing in traffic for ages, and theres usually a good atmosphere and you meet a few randomers a lot earlier than you would if you'd driven.

Are you able to get to the box office from the Shuttle Bus Drop-off point? I can't see how you'd manage it but there must be some way of getting there :S

Unless its moved since 2 years ago, they're right next to each other.
Anyway,
click here for full shuttle bus info from the official site, including a timetable.

Did they always stop at the bus station, then the train station? Is it any quicker getting a place on a shuttle at the bus station or do they just fill them up halfway and then move on to the train station?

In the past, they've always been empty at the train station when I've got on them. They've always gone to the bus station on the Monday, so I'm guessing they've always come from there. Bus then train is the best way to get out of Leeds anyway.
Get on wherever's closest and best for you, you won't have any problems getting on one that you wouldn't have got if you'd picked the other station. If that makes sense...

It's easier getting National Express straight into the Leeds Festival site, but you can't go on the Wednesday for that. That doesn't bother me though, couldn't go an extra day without a shower anyway!
