I have only been looking at the Leeds website since it launched, and presumed it was the same as the Reading one. I also thought that this meant there would be no Cold Beer Amnesty. However, under the ONSITE SERVICES & FACILITIES section there are some differences.

Leeds Website Only;
Late Night Entertainment
Campsite DJs
5-a-side football
Pharmacy
Recycling
Supermarket
Firewood
Campsite Gates - allowance
Arena Entrance - allowance

Reading Website Only;
Cold Beer Amnesty
Litter
Emergencies
Samaritans
The Salvation Army
Zone Managers
HATs
Lost Property

Now, as far as I'm concerned, they can have Samaritans and The Salvation Army, thats fine by me. But, if Reading get a cold beer exchange and Leeds doesn't I'll be furious. To me, it's probably the difference between spending 30-odd quid on warm Fosters/Carlsberg/Someothershitelager, or 22p a can on cold Carling.

However, I reckon this means that there will be a cold beer exchange at Leeds (and this info will be with the tickets), and that the websites are just crappy (I think Reading will get Firewood and Arena Entrance - allowance wink.gif), but its still a bit slack.

They get Hats too.

That would be handy if it was sunny.

And the Sally army are pretty hot on those trumpets.

So Reading get emergencies, the Samaritans & litter, while we get firewood, footie & recycling - suits me! tongue.gif

That would really get my goat if they decided to have the amnesty at Reading and not leeds!

Oh and it would be torborg as Carling have done one! Either way an amnesty would be good.

Any information on off sales would be good as well!
biffoire
I asked if there would be an amnesty and/or off site sales.

From Carlsberg!

'There will not be a beer amnesty and The Leeds festival however crates of chilled Tuborg will be available to purchase. We are unable to confirm the price as this is set by the event organisers, not by Carlsberg UK.'

Firewood? Thought you weren't allowed campfires at Leeds any more?

small camp fires are fine, bonfires arent tho,,i personally dont see the excitement with bonfires... its mainly boys with too much pre pubescent chemicals running in their bodies that find bonfires exciting, haha,.
"lets through a gas canister on some fire.. it turns me on"

nah, little fires are cool.. ha.. well hot rolleyes.gif

what I fail to understand; is the attraction of creating a bonfire only for the purpose to throw in peoples belongings and gas canisters (which are welcomed with "woooooooowwww" when they pop).
The last person who performed such as above; got a pan smashed over his head and a kick in the bollox biggrin.gif . the joys of leeds 05!! mwahahah! Dont try and steel a geordies tent.. especially when it has her vodka in it!

I do enjoy a good campfire. Gets a bit scary when the gas canisters come out though.

I agree, I prefer the traditional English addition to a bonfire - the Catholic.
