Full Version: Contact info for DF concerts

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to find a contact email for DF concerts ( even Better Mr Ellis) so we can get a complaint email into them. I think after all the money we paid we have a right to some answers for the fcuk up.s that occured all weekend. I have the T-Lady's email but I know from asking questions in previous years that no one ever answers.

Hope you can help.

Thanks Laura

its not hard to find a contact address for DF concerts

and if youve had such a crap time the solution is simple - dont go next year

from what ive read in your other posts your whining cos you cant get in the day entry gate but your campers with camping tickets - the scanners at each gate are only programmed for those gate.

you whine about the security on the gates then turn round and say they are crap because you could recycle tickets to get in - make up your mind what you want - tight strict security or what you have now, you cant have both

Well, Mr (i'm so high and mighty ) maybe before reeling off you should have read those post a bit more carefully. I have never NEVER complained about the walk from the campsite, I was actually replying to a post which had stated that. I do think the security was shocking...not all but some ( as many have said on here already) as I also said it did work out for us coz we managed to get someone in who had their band removed. We did take advantage of the lax security but at the end of the day that should never have been allowed to happen.

I won't be going next year because of all the problems, however as a consumer who has paid a lot of money to DF concerts and everyone else involved with T in The Park I think it is within my rights to highlight these proplems and let DF concerts know why they will not recieving my or the 15 friends, who will not be returning to T in THe Park , money for tickets next year.

I have always loved T in The Park....infact so much that I bought my earlybird tickets in Canada last year ( where I lived ) so that I could incorporate a holiday home at the same time as my favourite festival. So we are not just talking ticket money here it is the flights too (1 internal and 1 transatlantic for myself, my fiance along with our 3 yr old daughter).

I can understand you being touchy as security in general get a lot of stick ( some of it rightly so but a lot is unjustified, I actually think you have a really hard job) what I can't understand is that someone, like yourself, who is obviously very dedicated to their job would want all these complaints swept under the carpet and not address. Surley a better run T in The park would not only result in happier campers ( and non campers ) but also make your job easier?

Oh Had I wanted an address that is what I would have asked for. Being aware of DF concerts dreadfull handling of complains I actually asked for an email address.

Have a lovely day Mr Security man!

try to e-mail the location you think would be a web address.

eg, geoff.ellis@dfpromotions.co.uk

They wont take any notice and probably not answer your complaint like other faceless places. Stand up Carling Academy. dry.gif

The sticky at the top of this forum would suggest that someone, sufficiently high up in DF to engage solicitors, does read these posts or at least have the matters contained in them brought to their attention.

Rationally made points, maybe with some suggestions on how the situation could be improved, might be acted on.

Or they might not.

kismaas
I know that it will just be ignored along with all the other negative comments that are sent to them but I feel to just moan about on this forum is not enough. Thanks to whoever left the address earlier I have already sent a letter to them.

Cheers.

DF dont do constructive critisism. They only want to screw as much money as possible out of punters for as little as they can get away with giving in return.

A friend of mine had a pretty serious complaint to level at DF about last years T, letters were as good as ignored and replies that were promised never appeared. She finally got a telephone number and rang them, her complaint was sorted almost instantly. I'd consider ringing them if I were you, either way you need to be very persistant with DF
bassface
Have you tried the DF press office? they might be able to give you a response/a number.

i've got plenty of complaints about T and i'd contact them about it if i thought it'd make any difference. but it won't. the festival (i use that term loosely) is a disgrace but people are daft enough to keep buying tickets so why should they try to improve it? if they can put on a shite festival with minimal effort and cost, and still sell out, then why change anything?
wayneh
Your sig says you went to TITP for the last 4 years, are you one of those dafties?

Is TITP 2009+ not going to be part run by LiveNation now? Maybe they will kick it into shape for future years? A fresh perspective etc

Complaining on here aint going to do shit either but that doesn't seem to stop you...

You're like the typical Daily Mail reader. Complaining for no other reason than for some attention.

Sending a complaint to DF is like sending a complaint to Santa that you had a bad Christmas, you know for a fact that it will still come around next year, if you really want to get something done then have a bit of conviction and email Perth and Kinross council to get a contact for someone who is involved in granting the licence, vent your view and then ask that you be kept informed of any future T licence developments and meetings in relation then go and voice your concerns at those, get enough people together at one of these meetings and you have a chance that no licence will be granted for next year if enough people complain about relevant things as opposed to the burgers are too dear or the gates too far away.
Paul ™
In 2005 I gathered all the complaints on here and sent it on to them plus some other people who are involved (including PKC, Rocksteady, Tayside Police and the Daily Record) and got a reply and most of the points were actioned in 2006 (including the improved campsite fence)

For me, this was probably the most painless and stress-free T I've had yet. The only complaint I can really think of is having to queue up with everyone else to get back in on the Friday afternoon when we'd all already been in, got our wrist-bands etc, on the Thursday. Surely they could've had a separate queue for people who'd already gone through the initial check-in..? I don't expect everything to be perfect but apart from that one thing there's nothing else that particularly bothered me smile.gif

we had the same. luckily we were able to join the queue at the front gates though and not at the end of the very very winding queue outside.

We left to buy beer in town on Friday after we'd set up and it was a bit annoying having to queue for a while again. We did the same as you though and joined up near the front, no way were we treaking to the end of that queue!

Yeah, we joined the queue up at the front as well but still took a good hour or so to get in sad.gif Not really a massive inconvenience but still. Some people were going nuts at the security though!

There should have been another entrance for those that already had wristbands. It was an inconvinience for us and it just created more congestion and longer waiting times for folk heading in for the first time who had all their kit to carry. We were there first thing on Friday morning so got in really quickly once the gates were open, felt sorry for everyone arriving later and having to wait an age.

absolutely. bad news for both.
what was the point in issuing us with wristbands and thursday tickets if we were just treated the same as them friday punters tongue.gif

Maybe the company that do the festival awards should like a league table or annual survey in relation to festivals lol T would obviously be high up for line-up most of the time but would be crap for most other things. T along with other festivals would get a bad public name, with evidence to back this up that people think this, and in turn would be forced to improve? smile.gif

I think it'd be good if they did something like that but all the T organisers give a toss about is money and unless ticket sales go down significantley I don't see them making many changes any time soon

According to some, sales are already down on last year. Maybe we can expect some improvements for next years?

Or not. dry.gif

Looks like Mr Ellis & Co haven't done too badly, despite what some of us thought.... blink.gif

Last night saw the inaugural Scottish Event Awards held at the Glasgow Science Museum, with T in the Park taking home the Grand Prix on the night.
DF Concerts picked up the main prize for T in the Park having also been awarded the prize for Best Large Festival.

DF also won in the Best Small Festival Category for Connect.

Riiiiiiiiiiight but are these awards based purely on Scottish festivals/events??? If so then there aint really anything else the size of T to compete is there huh.gif ?? Its a gaurenteed award i think no matter how it does.

As for Connect well thats just passed laugh.gif god it was only on last week so to already have an award its way is a bit dubious to say the least laugh.gif from what i heard it was pish laugh.gif .
bassface
Nah, if you're focusing on Large Music Festivals/Events in Scotland, then yes, T in the Park would walk it, but these would include festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Just looked into it, it was the 08 award show, including 2007 events - its actually T in the Park and Connect from 2007 which won the awards, not this years. It would be suspect if Connect 08 had won, they're probably still cleaning up the site!

There was another entrance, we used it as we spent all afternoon in Kinross after getting set up. If you walked to the far right hand side of the main que there was an entrance you could get throu if you already had your wristband. We walked straight in.

Wonder if the Scouts found any booze under tents? One warm and muddy can of Strongbow would probably get about 6 of them wasted.
