Can anybody help me, I bought two tickets through this website on Tuesday the 15th for next years festival.
I looked online at my credit card statement and there was an amount for 2 tickets + £9.50 and the transaction description was 'Ticket Budapest'.
I emailed them to question the additional £9.50 and received a reply saying they would refund this amount, but no explanation about the transaction description or the fact they are still taking bookings on their website.
I've gone back to the website and I cannot find a contact telephone number for them. Also the postal address is in Dundee, but I thought Big Day Out were in Glasgow.
Can anybody help me before I cancel a valid ticket order or lose the cost of 2 tickets!

I'd get onto your credit card company now. Tickets were sold by ticketmaster and a few limited companies like Tickets Scotland.
If you can't find out who that company is, and they aren't authorised to sell tickets by T in the Park, you are probably going to get ripped off. I think there is a shop called Grouchos in Dundee that are an authorised outlet, but the URL you listed seems dodgy.
Aren't RIP OFF ALERT - london ticket shop - RIP OFF ALERT based in Hungary? The owner has been on Watchdog more times than Nicky Campbell.

The Thawte certificate is genuine, it's possible for a scammer to buy one to give the site a more genuine look but i'd think it unusual.

It's not difficult as you can get you isp to transact the certificate - Anyway certificates do not mean the company is kosha - It's only to ensure your IP traffic is encrypted - Thawte would pull the certificate if its shown that the company are up to know good.

I bought 2 tickets last febuary from london tickets express and then realised my mistake so I contacted my creditcard company and told them after quite a while sorting it out all I coudl do was dispute it as the bank cant do anything about cancelling the order as the company have not done anythign wrong yet... I had to wait until after t int he park to get the issue sorted and have just received my credit fortunatley as the tickets never turned up!!
so it looks like you will have that amount on your card for the next year which could be a bit fo a kick in the balls..

if its creditcard it should be fine mate, what you will have to do though is send off any communication you have had from them and receipts and other emails from them.. Its also best to get as much info about them as possible to have that to send off aswell.

they sold less than half of the tickets on early bird (do not believe the hype that they sold all 40,000) & it took them over 10 hours to do so despite doubling the alloted amount folk could buy so you will have no problem buying them when they are released in Feb.

The sale of tickets was only last week 6 days ago to be precise now lets just state here that the tickets went up for sale at 12 noon!!!! By 10 pm (evening) tickets could still be purchased so excuse *clears throat* why do people not buy from a verified site??? If you bothered to read my post, I bought the tickets on the day of release, not 'a day or 2' later.
I knew tickets were being released on this date and time, but have never bought tickets for TITP before - how exactly should I have known it was a dodgy site, when it was at the top of the list when I searched on Yahoo? How should I know which site is 'verified? From the site I saw an address in Dundee, not Hungary.
It wasn't until I checked my credit card statement that I grew suspicious and started searching around.
Hopefully by my posting this will help somebody else from avoiding this site. Thanks to all those who have given useful advice in reply to my original post.

the thing thats even worse is after they've bought them they come on here and actually ask if the site they've used is ok.
not having a go moose, its just a general thing. its not like the 'proper' ticket selling companies aren't advertised at all and theres always scarlet mist if something sells out. why people are so happy to just pay for something off a site they've never even heard of, without spending 5 minutes or so to actually sit back and think about it is just crazy.

If you bought your tickets on the day they got released then why didnt you check the ticketmaster website to check if they had any left? Surely you should check the official sites first to see if you can get a hold of some tickets? Your always told to stick to offical retailers when buying T tickets so if you had followed this advice you wouldnt have this problem. Not as if the tickets sold out quickly or anything. Sorry if I sound like I'm having a go but it just seems like common sense to me.
