I bought tickets off ebay (Nov 07 - 2 Full Weekend Camping -£335.00) from Apex Tickets and my tickets have still not arrived. Anyway it would appear that this company is a fraud as I have googled reviews etc and note people in same situation.

I filed a complaint via Paypal and as this was not filed within 45 days of purchasing the goods, they can't do anything. At the time of purchase, the seller advised that we would not recieve tickets until at least 3 weeks before and sometimes as late as 5 days before. Because of this advice I had no reason to file a complaint within the 45 days with Paypal.

Anyway, Paypal advised that if they recieve multiple disputes re this seller they may reopen the case. If anyone knows of anyone that this happened to please advise them to file complaint via Paypal in the hope that this seller can be traced and held accountable for robbing us.

Rotten really as this was Xmas presents for 2 children who would have been attending T in the park with us for the 1st time! Just don't have the money to fork out for another 2 tickets. sad.gif

Head along to the event anyway.... you'll get tickets cheap as chips this year.

Same thing happened to a few of my mates last year. These people should be shot. Bunch of bastards.

think you should name them so we can avoid them in future on e-bay, saying that they will change the name if ripping people off.

On another note, how old are your kids? My daughter wants to go to T but shes still a wee bit young, nearly 6. I will take her when shes older but I have seen kinds her age there in previous years and they seem to enjoy it.

they are 11 and 13yrs. My sister used a campsite last year about 1 mile away and she was imprseed with it and that it was used by lots of families. That's why they are being allowed to go this year and that they like the music.!

Well, it's probably worth heading to the campsite and then coming along and seeing what tickets are available around the entrance.

I'm sure they'll get something cheap, there isn't exactly a massive demand for spare tickets this year.

Hi

I bought 4 tickets to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo for 8/8/08 through Apex Tickets costing £440.00 in December 2007. I too was told not to contact them till 5 days before the event. Anyway, I contacted them early as one of our party had become wheelchair bound and I wanted to see if they could make suitable arrangements. I have received no response from their e-mail addresses and the telephone number now is disconnected.

I have contacted PayPal and they have given me a similar line - i.e. I did not contact them within 45 days of the sale so there is nothing that they can do for me. They also mentioned to me in their e-mail I received today that they may re-open any claim for investigation within 180 days if they receive multiple complaints about the seller - so there is at least 2 of us now!

In the meantime I am going to try to pursue this through the Financial Ombudsman Service - tel 0845 080 1800 but don't know if I will get anywhere. It can take up to quite a while to get a decision.

PayPal will not help you. Whenever there is a claim to get money off Paypal, they won't help you. Most people I know who have used PayPal have learned the hard way.

I have had a successful claim with Paypal when I got stung on an Xbox purchase, it took them ages to sort it out but in the end I got my money back (minus their ridiculous fee).

I heard around 20%, so that's about right. Golden rule, don't buy of ebay unless it's a last resort. Keep within the 45 day timescale as well.
You would probably be better claiming off your credit card. If you payed by debit card your a bit fooked.

Guess me and my mates were lucky this year, 3 of us bought off two different ebayers and all got our tickets, albeit about 5days before the festival so was touching cloth a bit, but it was a last resort. Just research the ebayers name on google etc beforehand, it's all ya can do really.

Hi there,
I too am in exactly the same situ as you, but I am NOT letting Apex Tickets get away with it. I have contacted Trading Standards who have advised me of the correct procedure. I am also reporting this to my local Police as this is simply fraud. I work with someone whose brother in the Police Squad, so he too has been advising me. I will also be asking the Inland Revenue to investigage them. Both ebay and paypal were about as helpful as a chocolate teapot, but I am not giving up. Why should these criminals - because that it what they are - be allowed to operate, probably from a bedroom and take our hard earned money. I have googled their address in Fife and it looks like a terrace house. I have contacted Fife Police today who have advised I make a statement first to my local police who will then take the matter up. If anyone would like to join me in getting our money back, please let me know. Initial money layout will be about £80, but if we all club together we can spread the cost. I have copied the screen grab from Apex's website stating if we are unsatisfied customers we will bet 150% back!
I could go on and on, but I will wait to see what I am instructed to do next. I don't care how long this takes, it is a matter of principle now.
Sorry for your misfortunte too.

Very grown up assface, sorry bassface. You shouldn't really be on these forums with your attitude. Still let's hope you are never as trusting as I was.

I'm with you on this.

The tickets are totally overpriced as standard anyway, why anyone would want to pay over the odds for a TITP ticket is beyond me.
mrcat1990
its a point but some people arent in the financial situation at time of ticket release to get tickets! early birds are defianatly out as im just back from an expensive weekend !
Greenscot
Had the same problem with the same guy and he was a prick !!! He emailed me the day before saying he had my ticket and by this time i already had a ticket !! I met up with him after t in the park after numerous emails and phone calls about recieving my cash back. Eventually i had to meet him before i got it !! He was not a nice person and i feel very much appalled and sorry for those who neither recieved there tickets or cash back !!!
OneLittleFish
T should do a ticket deposit system like Glasto or Belladrum - people are more likely to be able to afford the £50, touts will get less business after as there would be a significant amount of tickets on sale later and it'd give touts a much tighter window in which they would have to operate.

Or, they could do the smart thing and put photo ID on tickets.
