Am going to my first Leeds festival this year & can't wait. But have spoken to afew different people at various festivals & alot say that tent slashing at Leeds is a common thing. Has anyone experienced this??

Yes, on the last night in 2004. *touches wood* but there are plenty of cheap 2 skin tents on sale at camping shops like millets and blacks etc.

this is my 4 time and ive never seen it happen, altho i did it to my mates tent on the sunday nite/morning, cause we have a big party in our camp on last nite and no ones aloud to sleep and he did so we slashed all his tent with a tin opener, we fort it was funnny as, he dint tho hah

Yeh I didnt see any slashin (knifes) of tents last year, maybe by groups of people who owned the tents ripped 'em up un mornning but didnt notice anyone delberately cutting up other peoples tents. Maybe one or two get accidental rips in though. Dont bring a tent you would be really pissed off over if you didnt bring home.

No, like most things (crime, 'riots', the fact that it's just full of wasted 16 years olds) it's something thats really exaggerated.

i saw a few slashed tents back in 04 but nothing since then so id imagine its one of those things that has been exaggerated over the years, like there's always going to be a riot on the last night.

Never seen any slashing. Leeds is generally good natured. There's some tent theft, but that happens everywhere.

I had a tent slashed during the night, so it does happen.



No, they had a reason - they wanted what I had on the inside (money), they slashed the tent had a feel around inside and found a wallet in my jeans. Stupid mistake by me. But I've never heard of a tent being slashed for laughs of stuff like that.

BTW, if you're worried about your tent, get a cheapo one. We got my son a 3 man dome tent from tesco the other night for £7.50. That's a throw away price

My mate had her tent slashed last night of last year. Nothing knicked or anything though and it was only the outer layer.
