Oh the memories, gettin chased by riot police in 2002. They just don't make riots like they used to.

That was nuts! That got a bit scary at times, especially with all the portaloos burning down and the metal fences around them melting!

My first Leeds was that year, our tent was right on the corner by the burning portaloos and got properly trashed. Wound up with six of us sleeping in the car. It was quite a spectacle to sit down and watch from a distance, what with the helicopter and riot police n all that, wouldnt fancy getting caught up in it but it was a memorable night!
Plus i had the pleasure of watching Ash whilst stood next to a fella dressed as Spiderman with a toothbrush sticking out of his arse

We we're right beside the rapidly melting portaloos too. The fumes I breathed in that night will probably take years off my life.

we were camped nearby the loos too, near the burger van at the top middle of the field. Had a great view of the gas cannister going off like a flamethrower in what was the stewards portacabin.

Wasn't it POOH bridge? I remember it well from endless hours spent lost at the festival looking for the car.

It could have been! I don't remember too much... I only ever went once in 2002, but it was a great year, I don't think the atmosphere has been beaten since!

My first year at leeds was the last at temple newsam, i remember they had workmen there to extend the bridge temporaraly and reduce the bottle neck, well we went to buy some firewood and they had unfortunatly ran out, so we did the next best thing, picked up a load of wood each from the piles next to the bridge while the builders were on the other side, legged it, fast as, good times
