Heard off a very reliable source (i really do mean reliable, and have actually seen proof) at work last night that both Metallica & Slipknot will both be playing at the Newcastle Arena at the very end of the year (Metallica was November i beleive, and these are two completely different shows, Slipknot arent the support). This indicates that both bands will be doing large scale tours at the end of the year in support of there new albums.
Sort of expected i know, but after the constant Metallica tour non-starts we have had, and the lack of news we have had about slipknot touring, it's welcome to here that both will be touring.
Beleive me if you want, but i can assure you the source i got this from is very reliable. It wasnt just these gig's he informed me of, but they were the only ones that were of any real excitement (the rest was stuff like dancing on ice etc).

i've seen them both twice before, and both times each at festivals... might still be tempted depending on line-ups for the shows, but i don't wanna imagine the prices!!!

that cud be cool

hopefully some arenas local to me too!! hehe
tho both together wud've been better, not sure slipknot are worth paying arena prices for...
thinking abt £40 for metallica and a bit less for slipknot?

Arena shows are never usually more than £40 unless it's somebody like the police/stones. The who were only about £32 when they played Newcastle last year, even Dylan was only £40. Considering it will be a big, multi gig date i can see it being around 35quid, plus you will get a mammoth set (2 and half hours plus). I'm hoping they keep either Down or Machine head on as the support. As for slipknot, i think youll be looking at about £25-30 a ticket at a push. There audience doesnt have the money to splash out £40 on a gig.

if Metallica had down or Machine Head supporting i'd probably go no matter what the cost! or maybe both, plus the other european support (The Sword) - if those 4 bands played together i would honestly pay about £70. no joke. hella-line-up.
but no, it'll probably just be Metallica and someone shit eh?

it was night put on by the almight Laze, first of all monthly (then bi-monthly), that ran for bloody years. The Laze headlined every time and got various good local bands, or good bands from anywhere to play, you could smoke green easily in there (before the smoking ban...), after time it extended to two floors worth of line-up, and was, well, the best night out going in Liverpool.
but due to other commitments like actually recording albums and touring places other than merseyside, the laze have f**ked it off to a once every xmas event only.
shame. it was f**king AMAZING.

nah i don't base myspace-style demo recordings on whether i like bands..
i have seen too many awesome bands who have shite demo recordings and too many shite [signed] live bands with excellently produced tracks..

Beleive it if you want. It's not like it's an earth shattering rumour anyway. Like i said, the source is very reliable and holds quite a prominent position at the venue, but i cant say anymore than that. She/He said that it should be announced very shortly, but i would imagine it would be after Leeds/Reading, although that might be quite late for Slipknot to sell there tickets.

It only came out this time last year. Between then & now, They've done download, Opened for metallica & headlined that arena tour with trivium.

Though I kinda like Slipknot, I'd be going for CoB and Machine Head, and probably won't bother if there won't be around an hour for at least one of them.
