The 'revisited' one from the same company ain't bad either.

MC5?

Wouldn't class them as psychedelic,

Kick out the jams is a quality album, Protopunk at it's best.

They're both fantastic compilations. The 4cd box set of Nuggets is pretty amazing. You can get a one cd version which has the best tracks, but the full 4 cd option is pretty good:
on e-bay here

Nice post. I love Arthur Lee and Love. They were great when they played Glasto a few years back. RIP Arthur Lee.

Too right. I saw them at Glasto and they were awesome!

The bands mentioned on this thread are all worth a listen, especially The Seeds. A few other names to throw in the ring are Spirit and Ultimate Spinach. Also, you should listen to the Pink Floyd ablum The Pipers at the Gates of Dawn. They were very psychedelic when Syd Barrett was their driving force. Actually, check out Syd Barrett's The Madcap Laughs album too.

A good modern psychedelic(ish) bands are Black Mountain

Oh yeah... forgot to mention. Music map is good for finding new bands. Have you used it? If not, see below:

Ooooooo, now if only I could actually still play them, I'd be forced to wander off rummaging long and hard for Ye Olde Vinyls various at this point ! Some real good stuff mentioned in here B) that sadly hasn't seen the light of day or graced my ears for rather more years than I care to remember

And I'm defo still somewhat p1$$ed off that I didn't get to see [the current incarnation of] Starship and QMS this year cos they cancelled ALL the UK dates due to one dickhead promoter trying (and failing dismally) to organise stuff way beyond his means/capabilities. Grrrr B) But someone did come up with a rumour that they will both be coming to Europe (and maybe also UK) later in the year ... although I can't find anything concrete to substantiate it at the mo TBH.

PS: Beware of the remastered (AKA seriously b*ggered around with and generally not quite the same or anywhere near as good as the original) Floyd Piper CD but defo check out some Syd Barret solo stuff.

Quicksilver Messanger Service are brilliant.

Hawkwind, Gong, a nice bit of Cream for the older stuff. Ozric Tentacles anyone?

Please and thank you. Recently acquired their Sunrise 2007 live set, which has quickly become my faviourite of theirs.

For the 60s stuff, I found the 'Strangely Strange But Oddly Normal' complilation nicely eye-opening.
