Well, they don't play Nancy Boy or Pure Morning at all anymore anyway, so you didn't miss a thing. I don't get what's the big deal about missing just a few minutes anyway...

QUOTE (scccott @ Jun 15 2009, 04:10 PM) the funniest thing about it was after they came back on and asked people not to throw stuff onto the stage. someone immediately threw a cup of beer onto the stage. classic. dont play at a festival if you dont expect stuff to be getting thrown about. scissors is a bit too far, but as people were saying they were never thrown. looked like a spoilt kid storming off like that. goon. haha, yeah i guess if you thought you had scissors thrown at you from the crowd you'd be ok with it? they were thrown onstage by someone, i was right at the front and i saw them hit Brian's leg and land on the pedals. people are guna debate it but i saw it...and as far as i am concerned it wouldn't have surprised me if they didn't finish the set, throwing scissors is totally ridiculous.

QUOTE (calise @ Jun 15 2009, 09:26 PM) I understand why he left the stage, but why when he learned the truth did he not play a complete set, they finished about 10 minutes early! I'm a fan, I paid alot of money to see them. No-one did anything wrong why not play an encore? they were supposed to play an encore, could see when the roadies taped down the setlists, I think it was Taste in Men and Bitter End, and I assume the band were planning on doing so, since after Song to Say Goodbye the roadies came back on, tuned guitars and set up the drum kit again, then some other (non-placebo) roadies came on and started taking everything away. I'm assuming it had been communicated to the band at some point that they wouldn't be able to come back on and do the encore (but not the roadies??), which I'm guessing is why Brian threw his guitar (can't remember which song that was after) - something he's not done in like 8 years, then Steve Forrest kicked over his kit at the end. And they never play Nancy Boy or Pure Morning any more anyway. Apart from the complications it was probably one of the tightest sets I've ever seen them play (and that was no. 13 for me), and I'm glad the potential-scissors-incident was resolved quickly and didn't leave them in a sour mood. They seemed genuinely very into it and seemed to be getting a lot from the crowd, which was refreshing. The new album comes across very well live, I think I much prefer it live to recorded actually.
