..Get what you need!

Ahh heard from the hospital - I have an MRI on Tuesday morning - couldn't come too soon. Getting a bit fed up of the dizzy spells, stars before the eyes and the intense pain that can't be controlled with lots of ibropofen! I'm currently highly worried the two acts I've most wanted to see Rolling Stones and Yusuf Islam will be missed either cos I'm dead or cos they call me in for surgery (fortunately this is the NHS we are talking about doubt much will happen til after Shambala. That's dizzy as a

Remember to keep on trucking

Having seen the bbc coverage of Big Green Gathering today I rather wish i was there then i followed the links to Truck http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/collective/A13343843 - and I'm definitely going next year it's the week after Guilfest. so here's the plans already for 2007! subject to change of course! So that'll be: Hi Fi South (possibly) or Run to The Sun (we've never been and it is local) Wychwood (essential) IOW Glastonbury Calling Cornbury/Priddy (more likely the former) Guilfest

Big news

My sister in law is getting married in New Zealand next year. So in order to finance it we're selling the house and moving, well the neighbours have won I guess - but at least we'll get some sleep. However it's not the wedding I'm excited about but instead the possibility of us getting a flight from Auckland to Port Vila (I'm going home!!!!) Yup I've already managed to secure the services of the lovely Sheila in Auckland Holiday Shoppe who is on the case and enquiring about staying on

Arrrghhhhh!

House is up for sale, we have new neighbours and they are bustards of the highest order. Loud, stupid and on a drug fuelled binge that's lasted 4 days so far. I wouldn't mind but their music's shiet and they shout bollocks and one of them just howls all night. but we can't complain or it's constituted us not getting on with the neighbours and could hamper a sale. K however is using her drug squad connecos (from her council work) soon and as they are a multi-occupancy house without a licence

come on Plymouth.... Football round up

Ollie's Green and White Barmy Army are on telly tonight - so I'm looking forward to seeing some of our new players fielded for the first time as hopefully we crush coventry live on Sky tonight. Plymouth have Barnet away in the next round of the FA Cup too. Someone they should overcome with hopefully a home (or away) draw against some Premierhip opposition awaiting us in Round5 - our table position doesn't belie our performance. Despite the scoreline against Birmingham - which was a terrific matc

There and back again....

Well last Friday I'd handed in my notice and had to pack up for an early plane flight - packing took a bit longer than expected and as K had to visit the Archery Club to sort out some stuff - as it was we didn't get to bed until midnighet and were up again two hours later for the trip to Bristol airport and our flight. No problems boarding and time enough to have breakfast, my sister and her party (her daughter aged 2 and 2 additional friends of hers) cut it fine arriving literally as we were

Science Round Up

I've been very interested in the latest developments in science recently so thought I'd mention a few: CARMAKERS SUED Woke up this morning to the most amazing news that the state of California is suing six carmakers for costs associated with their cars' greenhouse gas emissions. story here Most unlikely that they'll win but boy General Motors, Toyota, Ford, Honda, Chrysler and Nissan are sure likely to think of alternative forms of fuel now. MISSING LINK FOUND Our early ancestors have b

No idea what I'm doing but at least I've finished my WOMAD review and can concentrate on my daughter's birthday organising, possibly even buying her a present. and whether we can afford the tipi at Endorse It. Well with this agreed it's gonna be fairly sparse innit.

...docs visit

Well the specialist thinks it's serious - and he said it's compounded by my having arthritis - i didn't know i even had arthritis! When did they find that out? And when were they going to tell me? Seems i also get swollen joints in the cold weather, but the lack of hand co-ordination - it's getting worse by the week. In the words of the Guvnor "Damn these useless hands!" and seems to be the cause of greatest concern to both the doc and the specialist, especially the rapidity of my decline.

Young Luvvies

Well Z has started her week of performances, and judging by here quick recap over a huried breakfast it sounds fantastic. Seems one of the performers (they range in age from 11 to 13) got a bit worried she was tired and not up for her part enough. So she decided best to pep herself up and drank seven(!) cans of RedBull just before the start of the performance. She raced on stage delirious said her words at pace, fizzed around, did a spin and promptly collapsed. Cue curtain falls, paramedics a

busy few days

Archery Friday was fantastic - clear skies, sunset and shooting outdoors with a new long bow. That was before we were off to Exfolk for a very enjoyable night. 3DM were terrific, Kangaroo Moon as great as ever but Mark Ronson looks old not seen him in 20 years so it's not surprising. Guess this means Gong must look wizened even more thse days! Real find was local based boy from High Wycombe - Leo James. Click myspace Superb singer/songwriter. Nuala was also really wonderful - indoor gigs

is it just me?

annoying mates! This has been bugging me for 3 days now and i wanna know if i'm over reacting. My mate appears to have a total memory bypass - he says on Saturday he has a film i can borrow - so i email him about it yesterday - and he's no idea what I'm on about and doesn't have the film he mentioned! WTF! This happens repeatedly with him, he's a DVD buff who buys loads of films and yet has only ever lent me about five. The classic was he'd said he'd lend me 'V for Vendetta' i waited a couple

Cash Frenzy - and we're supposed to be saving

Oh no! Having just been to the next gen console thread and having spent the weekend with four kids who all has PSPs and loving the WiFi facility and game share options. I've decided to buy a few new games. So when MCV arrived on my desk with incidentally an interesting write up on the Sony PS3 delays. This combined with an indepth of the new Wii I found which makes the thing look like it's still firmly marketted at kids. I got out my highlighter pen and have made a list of games I'd like: Obv

Have a cool Yule

Ring out those solstice Bells – tonight is the long night. So it’s time for a merry Christmas, Saturnalia, Yule, the Long Night, Solstice etc The solstice is the time of the death of the old sun and the birth of the dark-half of the year. It was called "Alban Arthuan by the ancient Druids. It is the end of month of the Elder Tree and the start of the month of the Birch. The three days before Yule is a magical time. This is the time of the Serpent Days or transformation...The Elder and

It's just a machine!!!

Said goodbye to the old Fiat this morning - it's only a piece of metal right. But I've got feelings for the thing! I mean it's got 3 Glasto parking stickers on it. It's got those dents in it. It's got character! The new car looks all new and errrr new. It's not got that personalised look to it. Gonna miss the bleedin' thing and I don't even drive! In other news need to remember to book tickets on megatrain for the footie - Plymouth v QPR (seems there's loads of us going now). Need to join the

Beaut Days Overview!

Overview Bloomin’ Heck! What a Ball! I couldn’t wait for the fourth Beautiful Days hoping it would at least live up to the previous three, which from its superlative start has been bettered each year. I really should put more faith in the organisers, Exeter-based promoter Dave Farrow and friends who really have nurtured the growth of Beautiful Days carefully and are clearly realising their vision to put Devon at the top of the festival tree. This year’s festival was better and grander t

New Beginning

Our new neighbours moved in yesterday more bleedin' students - Exeter students have too much cash - a top of the range rangerover with new plates, a 2004 mini cooper a Capri and 3 VW Golfs all now reside littering the roads! Opposite new students also moved in. So we've had enough - last year we had no rubbish collection cos their cars blocked the road, a sleepless daughter from their late night swearing and partying, our garden used as their tip! So we're not going through it again and putt
