More on Neuropathy

http://www.neuropathy.org/site/PageServer What is Neuropathy? Peripheral Neuropathy, also known as Peripheral Nerve Disease, is one of the most common diseases most people have never heard of (15-20 million Americans have peripheral nerve disease). Caused by deterioration of the peripheral nerves, neuropathy disrupts the body’s ability to communicate with its muscles, organs and tissues. Neuropathy is like the body’s wiring system going haywire, causing unusual or unpleasant irritations incl

More MRI, narrowing it down

Last week I went back to the doctors for more tests - now they've really narrowed it down, and provided a few answers. Firstly my tinnitus is not caused by exposure to rock music at festivals, it seems there's something blocking the signal that runs through the bone in my ear to my brain. This block is microscopic, non malignant (by now it should have grown through the bone it is housed in if it was) and has been growing really slowly for decades, until it bumped against the nerve. So my p

Missing Meet

The off season meets are in full swing with the London one due on tonight I think at Synergy which looks like an excellent venue - I'm really gutted we're not going I do enjoy eFestivals meets. Then there's another one up Manchester - those are always legendary had a great time at both of the ones we attended. No news yet if there's an annual next year - but as the last one was down this neck of the woods I suspect it'll be up country and I'd have to do a lot of persuading to get K to drive

Magyar Bow

Today i finally got around to buying my bow it's a HUNGARIAN BOW OF THE MIDDLE AGES as used by the Magyar and also I've since realised used by Robin Hood in the BBC TV series. Damn that sounds too cliched now. I bought it in this design, see pic below, although I'm considering putting a knotwork design on the limbs in the future. Z is currently creating one for me. total length: 60 1/2" length between siyahs: 53" length strung: 55 5/8" draw weight: 44# at 28' max. draw leng

lazy days

Ah well the boss is still away, says he may not even be back by Friday - bonus ball! Spent most of last night trying to fix the Quake virus - bloody nightmare! Mind you if i wasn't such a cheap skate I'd by proper malware protection instead of winging it with Microsofts oblivious Defender (Beta) also 2 of the fish are suffering. One has dropsy (Neon Rainbowfish) and the other is on the bottom looking a bit on her last fins (Blue Gourami). So checked water stats - all spot on! Dammit why a

Lantern fun tonight!

A busy weekend approaches with the footie tomorrow - Plymouth playing host to Birmingham and then I've got to back in time for a birthday party happening that evening. sunday is the weekly shop, plus archery and then a fireworks display and outdoor hot picnic (currently just an idea) no idea what I do there - but we thought a hot picnic was a good idea a few days ago. I also have to give some thought for our forthcoming title 'Rock Chick!' our new girl teen title - being put together by yo

Kernow

Went to Camelford and Tintagel, saw Gran she's looking thin. At Tintagel we drove passed the battle for Camelot re-enactment which looked cool but Cornwall was packed. Lunched in Boscatle, more family and wedding is June 16. There's a few B&Bs up for grabs tho - so we did think maybe we'd buy one and we saw a mobile home towing a car and K said that was the answer. Most of the pixies are bare stone now - shame i preferred their bright colours. Tonight it's damn hot! Just been reading

just when I thought it was over....

Since about August I've been getting a lovely buzzing noise in my ears and a bit of disorientation - sounds like the results of a good night out? Well I thought it was hearing damage - so went to the doctors. Found out earlier this week that there's no damage to my hearing at all - the noise it seems is not coming from my ears! So wa-hey back to the brain scan machine for me! And it seems the doctor played down the results of my previous tests!!! Terrific! On the plus side I do get to see

Jazz hands

Found a great excuse for carrying a tankard at festivals - it's for medicinal reasons. Getting hot here tonight (10.40pm) so looking good for this weekend hopefully. Might not even need the BBQ - hoe they have good food like the furnace there. Will be wearing same costume too - been told this is boring - but hey can't afford loads of stuff. Work is totally nuts another graphics guy has walked so there's now 4 of us doing 78 magazines. That's 20 a month each - not enough hours in the day. Plus sp

It's just a machine!!!

Said goodbye to the old Fiat this morning - it's only a piece of metal right. But I've got feelings for the thing! I mean it's got 3 Glasto parking stickers on it. It's got those dents in it. It's got character! The new car looks all new and errrr new. It's not got that personalised look to it. Gonna miss the bleedin' thing and I don't even drive! In other news need to remember to book tickets on megatrain for the footie - Plymouth v QPR (seems there's loads of us going now). Need to join the

it's a scorcher!

Today followed last night's Gorillaz example with a host of special guests. Muse stole the show with an encore guest performance from U2's Edge, and before them Scisssor Sisters had an appearance from Kylie. Biffy Clyro were special guests in a packed Park although we couldn't find anywhere near enough to see it, while Shakira and The Dead Weather played to those roasting in the sun at the main stage we chose to chill at the Bimble Inn and bumped into friends. George Clinton and Midlake head

It were grand! Nick Cave too!

Wow terrific night - lost my notes and got plastered with some old boys I've not seen in 15 years! Great fun! All the best tunes and some fat psychobillies on first! SLF are still fabulous and it was a terrific night of singing yer lungs out and trying not to join all the dads who should know better in the mosh pit - i failed! And came out hot and sweaty and chattin to a load of new friends! Marvellous - now i was going to Great Yarmouth to see this lot: But then KAZ told me when we g

annoying mates! This has been bugging me for 3 days now and i wanna know if i'm over reacting. My mate appears to have a total memory bypass - he says on Saturday he has a film i can borrow - so i email him about it yesterday - and he's no idea what I'm on about and doesn't have the film he mentioned! WTF! This happens repeatedly with him, he's a DVD buff who buys loads of films and yet has only ever lent me about five. The classic was he'd said he'd lend me 'V for Vendetta' i waited a couple

i don't like Mondays

It's the adjustment from the weekend and working in a sweat box. Did lots of work as I'm headed for a hugely complicated couple of weeks. Travelling to festivals, Z's birthday and a trip to High Wycombe all with hardly any days to do a mountain of work. I'm feeling under the weather and irked by my mistakes, sometimes i wonder why i open my mouth when most of the time my factual knowledge is totally amiss. At which point i end up looking incompetent as usual. No idea why I'm feeling so low t

Homesick

My daughter was just watching CBBC and they had a TV show on called Friends International a tv programme about a girl who had moved away from her friends in England to Vanuatu - where i used to live. In the programme they showed the Rossi restaurant and it's gardens where we used to play, the basketball courts behind our house, our house, Tanna beach - oh how i miss the beach! The volcano on Tanna, the Tanna holiday cottages, BPS primary school, the road from Vila to the golf course and load

holidays are comin

Ah only 10 days until we set off on a bit of a trip of a lifetime! It's been 2 years in the planning. We've got a fish/house sitter so no need to put our aquatic pets in a hotel anymore - and so we're ready for our big adventure. We'd booked a hotel in Vila, which was the best we could afford until the other day I discovered the Australian equivalent of lastminute.com and we scored a luxury room in THE island resort - Irririki resort - on the island my sister was born on. Check it out h

Here comes the sun....

Ahh Endorse It on Friday - who knows what time we're gonna get there! Or for that matter where we're camping! But looking forward to it lots! Back to the Planet OMFG!!!! The forecast for Beaut days is deteriorating - wonder if it's too late to get a tipi?

Here Comes The Rain!

Everyone seems a bit despondant about the weather, but i don't seem to mind it in the slightest. K moans cos it effects her camera - and she has a point. But me I'm quite looking forward to my pint staying a bit cooler. Ground's too dry for much mud - so I'm happy. Only for Reading would it seriously get me down and that's only cos the whole place turns depressing. So I'm not that bothered! I'm more worried about the non-appearance of Z's present from a website I've never used before! 24 hou

Have a cool Yule

Ring out those solstice Bells – tonight is the long night. So it’s time for a merry Christmas, Saturnalia, Yule, the Long Night, Solstice etc The solstice is the time of the death of the old sun and the birth of the dark-half of the year. It was called "Alban Arthuan by the ancient Druids. It is the end of month of the Elder Tree and the start of the month of the Birch. The three days before Yule is a magical time. This is the time of the Serpent Days or transformation...The Elder and

Happy Vernal Equinox!

Well tonight just after midnight (seven minutes after) it's the Vernal Equinox or Ostara/Eostre/Ladys Day. The earth awakens... new life emerges, sap rises, buds shoot and spring flowers are celebrated as gifts from nature. Spring returns and rejuvenates our own life force. Wear Green! The equinoxes At the times when the Sun is crossing the celestial equator day and night are of nearly equal length at all latitudes and so we call these dates the equinoxes. In March, as the Sun i

Happy Samhain

To some yesterday, Halloween was Samhain but to me it was last night and now Samhain starts proper until the sull moon on November Fifth where burn a huuuuge bonfire! Last night we prowled the streets pretending we were fairie folk - knocked at doors requesting treats for tricks - performed our magic and we were rewarded with much bounty. (and maltesers too ) ended up with a carrier bag full, on meeting those less fortunate who inquired how we had such huge hauls of sugar and coca we replie

Happy New Year! Mabon again!

It's the happiest time of year again and no I'm not Jewish, but it's Rosh Hashanah for them too. I'm feeling very perky although a little peeky. Had a pleasent night out in hurricane George last night enjoying the warm strong gales and a pint or three. Then tried to stay up all night but failed but awoke before dawn. Heard the dawn chorus, saw the sun rise and felt the vibrancy of the morning, no sign of the darkness that's to come yet. Considered wearing green but had nothing clean - but will b
