Wychwood Music Festival is a 3-day festival, held on Cheltenham Racecourse, in Gloucestershire for a capacity crowd of 10,000, and raises money for Oxfam.

The festival was launched in 2005 by a group of festival enthusiasts wanting to create an intimate and thrilling weekend festival experience, delivering not only the best acts of the day, but up and coming music, mixed with a few out of the ordinary acts. The music programme offers a blend of world, roots, contemporary music, and new collaborations.

Past performances have included Steve Earle, Alabama 3, Show of Hands, Allison Moorer, Eliza Carthy in collaboration with Varttina, Billy Bragg, Seth Lakeman, Dreadzone, Saw Doctors, Martha Wainwright, Mr Scruff, Amadou & Mariam, Handsome Family, Levellers, Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Badly Drawn Boy, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Shooglenifty, Transglobal Underground, Afro Celt Sound System, Zion Train, Eliza Carthy, Country Joe Macdonald, The Proclaimers, The Divine Comedy, The Imagined Village, Spiers and Boden, Kissmet, Duffy, Rachel Unthank & The Winterset, Kate Rusby, The Blockheads, Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls, and 3 Daft Monkeys.

The festival has also featured the first ever festival performances from The Feeling, and Guillemots.

It has a very family-friendly feel with lots of kids happily running about, it's intimate and inclusive for audience and musician alike with everyone camping together. As well as music on three stages, there is also comedy, a whole range of workshops, loads of activities for kids, and a great silent disco.

The festival attracts many people from right around the country, as well as a lot of families from the local area who arrive on day tickets. It also caters well for music fans of all ages.

There's three stages of live music, a solar cinema, a signing tent, multiple workshop tents, and a workshop area, a selection of interesting stalls in a Global Bazaar, catering outlets, a large Children's Area, camping, quiet camping, live in vehicles area, and a disabled camping area. On site there are three main bars, cashpoints, healing gardens, nice loos, showers, seminars, and positive environmental and political information stands.

The festival will probably continue the same camping set up, whereby you will be able to drive up to your camping pitch, and unload your camping gear right by where you are setting up. The campsite is flat, and always in great condition. Then emptied cars must be driven off the campsite and to the car park. After the festival, you'll be able to drive back to your pitch to load up.

On Friday, the gates open at noon, with the music starting at around 4.30pm and lasts until 11pm - with the silent disco offering late night entertainment until around 3am, and late night comedy available on the Small Bar Stage from 10pm until midnight. On Saturday, and Sunday the music is from 11am until the same end times.
