Wychwood Music Festival 2006
£85 w/e adults with camping, £70 w/e 11-18 yr olds camping. Day tickets also available
last updated: Fri 28th Apr 2006
Following a successful first Wychwood Festival in 2005, it will be back on the weekend of 2nd - 4th June 2006.
Wychwood aims to be intimate and inclusive for audience and musician alike, blending world, roots and contemporary music, and encouraging new collaborations, with an ethical bent to its theme, fundraising for Oxfam.
Expect a line-up with names from across world, folk, roots and contemporary music. As well as music there's solar powered cinema, adult and children's workshops including circus skills, music, yoga and tai chi as well as talks, performance poetry, dance, exotic food and drink, Healing Gardens and Global village, and new for 2006 will be comedy!
Many acts are confirmed, including Billy Bragg, Dreadzone and Seth Lakeman on the Friday, The Saw Doctors, Guillemots, The Feeling, Mr Scruff, Chris Difford, The Handsome Family, and Aberfeldy on the Saturday, and Eliza Carthy special collaboration with Salsa Celtica, Amadou & Mariam, Peatbog Faeries, The Bays, and Banco De Gaia on the Sunday. For the full confirmed line-up details to date - and some rumours - click here.
Unlike just about every other festival, cars are allowed on the campsite for people to unload, then they must drive off to the car park.
