WOMAD returns to Cáceres in Extremadura, Spain for the twentieth anniversary from Thursday 12th May to Sunday 15th May 2011.

Line-up

Confirmed acts are Ska Cubano (Cuba, Jamaica, Japan, Montserrat, United Kingdom), Dobet Gnahoré (Cote d'Ivoire), Kiko Veneno (Spain), Baloji (Congo Dem. Rep.), A Naifa (Portugal), Bigott (Canary Islands), Orchestre National de Barbès (Algeria/France/Morocco), 9Bach (Wales), Barrunto Bellota Band (Spain), Candi Staton (United States), Chapelier Fou (France), Don Letts (Jamaica/United Kingdom), El Viaje de Rose, Felisa Vega (Spain), Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (United States), SkalabraoS (Spain), Takeifa (Senegal), and Domu Afrika Dub Squad (Cape Verde). Imelda May has pulled out due to illness.

FREE

The festival is free to attend, but there is no camping offered on site.

The festival also has a global village of merchandise stalls and workshops for adults and children.

The festival will take place around the centre of Cáceres in the Plaza Major, Plaza San Jorge and the Gran Teatro.

Getting there

Caceres offers a range of accommodation options, travel is easy by rail from European rail links. Madrid is the nearest airport around 250 km away.
