WOMAD stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance, bringing together many forms of music, arts and dance from countries and cultures around the world.

The festivals are held all over the world, and allow audiences to gain an insight into cultures other than their own through the enjoyment of music. WOMAD aims to excite, to inform, and to create awareness of the worth and potential of a multicultural society. It has a friendly and family-safe atmosphere, as well as chilled music from all around the world.

WOMAD presents around 70 artists from across the world, on both indoor and outdoor stages. There's also a full programme of adult and childrens workshops (limited spaces available - turn up early!), the cabaret tent, DJ sessions and live performance in the late night 'CLUB WOMAD', as well the normal festi fodder, and a huge market of world crafts.

Confirmed acts include Apache Indian & the Reggae Revolution, Richie Havens, Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation, Youssou N'Dour et le Super Etoile de Dakar, and many more - see here for the full list of acts confirmed to date, including day splits. More acts will be confirmed over the coming weeks.

As well as the music, there's also cabaret:-
Friday: An Act Above (Norway); Bedlam Oz (Australia); Caroline Parker (UK); Crystal Music (UK); Experiments In Psychic Philosophy (UK); Men in Coats (UK/Poland); Other Half Productions (UK/Germany); Pete Moser (UK); Romany (UK); Urban Magik (UK).
