With multiple stages and an eclectic mix of festival favourites, iconic acts, local bands, and headliners with a wide appeal, the 13th Wickerman festival will happen on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th July 2014 with campsites open on the Thursday.

Badmouth Battles rapper Gasp will pick up the pace by MCing the festival’s first ever rap battle.

As always, the weekend festivities will be brought to a spectacular close with the crowd-gathering tradition of burning the 40ft Wickerman statue at midnight on Saturday.

The site

Sited on 120 acres of isolated farmland, near Dundrennan, South West Scotland, in deepest Galloway, the festival welcomes families, and features two main stages, as well as a dance area, acoustic tent, a campsite, trade stalls, alternative area, bars, and food stalls.

Included in the activities are a roller disco, hot tubs, dance workshops, an outdoor cinema and a brand new Lowland Links Tent which will help fans celebrate Scotland’s Year of Homecoming in style by shining the spotlight on the Dumfries and Galloway region.

Tickets are priced at £105 for weekend adult tickets and £52.50 for weekend concession tickets, with children aged 12 and under able to attend for free. A campervan/caravan pitch is priced at £45 or £95 with an electric hook up.

New for 2014

Wickerman will be launching two new features this summer to celebrate its partnership with Homecoming Scotland 2014 – a Lowland Links tent and the festival’s first 40ft kilted Wickerman. For the first time the statue will be hand sculpted in an gravity defying pose and be dressed in a striking kilt woven from willow.

The new Lowland Links Tent will showcase the region’s culture through a line-up of music mixed with interactive entertainment and local history, it will play host to a ceilidh at the end of each day. Local heritage experts, crafts and intriguing artefacts will also feature in the tent throughout the weekend.

The goNORTH Festival Tour Tent

The goNORTH Festival Tour Tent will also be making a return to Wickerman showcasing emerging talent from the Highlands and Islands, other parts of Scotland, the rest of the UK, and a selection of international contenders. Acts are invited to apply to be part of goNORTH via their website.

Down 'n' Dirty

The Down 'n' Dirty toilets and the Down 'n' Dirty showers are priced at £10 for each facility. These passes allow use of the upgraded 'posh' flushing toilets and hot showers.

Tipis

Luxury camping options include 18ft-tall hand-made tipis, yurts and cloudhouses, where fans can glamp it up. Pitches for campervans and caravans can also be booked with or without an electric hook up and will incur no increase in cost from last year.

Features

The Wickerman features a children's area, Dumfries Museum's Activity Tent, a drumming workshop, mountain bike skills workshops with the Forestry Commission, Cosmic Circles Fire Dancers, a funfair for kids, chainsaw juggling, outdoor cinema, children's circus.

Once again the popular Headphone Disco will be returning to Wickerman this year to keep people raving quietly on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in the Headphone Arena, nestled alongside Bass Camp.

Theme

This year, wicker revellers are encouraged to don their craziest caps, bonnets, hats and toories to celebrate a new fancy dress theme - 'Wicker Mad Hatters'.
