The 14th Twinwood Festival incorporates the Glenn Miller Festival of Swing Jazz & Jive, featuring music from the 40s, 50s and beyond along with air displays, hangar dances, fashion shows, comedy shows, trade stalls, food and bars, museums, living history, classic vehicles, camping and more.

Twinwood Festival is confirmed for Saturday 29th until Monday 31st August 2015, and takes place at the RAF Twinwood Airfield and Twinwood Arena, near Bedford.

Line-up

Expect over 60 acts across 11 venues, DJs and cabaret artistes, and of course hosts John Miller and his Orchestra.

Monday: The Revolutionaires Big Band, Kai's Cats, Lola & The Lamours, The Kingcats, The Swing Museum, The Hotsie Totsies, The Mainline Big Band, and Professor Queen Bee. With more acts to be annnounced.

The emphasis is on non-stop, high quality music from many top orchestras and artistes performing the great hits from the big band, swing and Jive era.

Ttickets are priced as follows:
Child prices valid for Children between 5 and 16 years. Under 5's Free.
ADULT: £94 Weekend, £42 Saturday, £42 Sunday, £28 Monday
CHILD: £15 Weekend, £8 for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday
There's also a Monday family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) available for £58.

Camping

Caravan and Motorhome pitches are also available. Campsite A is priced at £54, and Campsite B or C is priced at £50.

£98 a pitch for any motorhome exceeding 5 tonnes gross weight or 30ft length.

For those who are able to come earlier they will allow the pitching up of caravans and tents from mid-day on Thursday until midday Tuesday. Please note that organisers cannot guarantee that the showers and some toilets will be installed by Thursday, but the permanent toilet block will be open. Also the Camp Site Shop will not open until Saturday morning.

Attractions

Venues have acres of sprung dance floors which reverberate to the beat of the music, and after you've been to the retro dance lessons that will be available across the weekend, taking in swing dancing, modern jive, rock and roll, the jitterbug and plenty more besides.

To help set the scene, Twinwood Festival Village will also be filled with over 100 vintage traders selling fashions and collectables, plus there will be flying displays, classic vehicles and museums. There will even be a choice of hair and beauty salons to make sure you look the part.

Other live entertainment will include comedy and vintage fashion shows, and a host of music bars and eclectic food outlets serving a range of food and drink throughout.

Last but not least, 2015 sees the return, for only the second year, of the Mr and Miss Vintage UK competition, which will crown those who have most accurately captured the look and spirit of the festival. The contest is one of the centre pieces of the whole weekend, where the winners go home with exclusive prizes presented by Twinwood's special guest star Anita Harris.
