The 2nd addition of Together The People, the 5,000 capacity greenfield, non camping, music and arts festival taking place in Preston Park, in Brighton on the Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September 2016.

Line-up

On Saturday Brian Wilson will be joined by former band mate Al Jardine and their band to perform a UK Festival Exclusive of the classic album ‘Pet Sounds’ in full plus an array of fan favourties from The Beach Boys catalogue. Sunday headliners are Suede. Also confirmed are The Horrors, Hiatus Kaiyote, Songhoy Blues, Turin Brakes, Gaz Coombes, Natty, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Peter Hook and the Light performing Joy Division / New Order Greatest Hits, M. Ward, Chris T-T, Egyptian Blue, FUR, Atlas Wynd, Penelope Isles, Mindofalion, Post-Heather, Seats, Voodoo & The Crypts, Wild Front, The Rocking Horse Club, The Island Club, Beachtape, Episodes, House Points, Frankie Furlow, Mother Me, Sage Francis & B Dolan Present: 'Strange Speech, Famous Development', Poets vs MCs, Fickle Friends, Max Jury, Stevie Parker, Seratones, Matthew Logan Vasquez, Skinny Living, Jacko Hooper, Westerman, and Daniel Wakeford.

The family-friendly festival is open to all ages and will host three (3) music stages and welcome back the Incredible Moving Picturehouse Cinema,  and a pop-up ‘soapbox’ stage where local community groups and charities can talk about their work and the public can engage with local political & social bodies in Q&A sessions. The soapbox stage will also act as a platform for other creative arts & entertainment with talks, debates, poetry, spoken word and acoustic performances from local contributors and beyond. As well as the programmed entertainment expect to find local street food, craft beer, roaming entertainers, children’s entertainment, arts and craft, local ales and workshops.

Tickets are priced at £95 + booking fee, tickets for children aged 11-15 years are priced at £50, £25 for kids (aged 3-10 years) and free for toddlers aged under 3 years. Day tickets are now available for both days.

On site there will several bars serving beverages from local breweries, as well as a market/diner area which will house local independent food, clothing and arts concessions. Expect also visual art, a series of pop up galleries around the site for artists to use for live and exhibition purposes.

The park site is all ages; an adult must accompany under 16’s. Children are classed at 11yrs - 16yrs. Under 11’s may attend free of charge. Gates will open at noon on both days with a curfew of 10pm.

Kids' content this year includes live performances from Lazytown, Aliens Love Underpants, Music For Aardvarks, and Poppies Parties.

The festival will also host an exhibition of new photography by University of Brighton students plus Photoworks will be running family-friendly photography workshops at the Photoworks Photography Tent at Together The People. This project has been supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

The event is not offering camping.
