T in the Park 2006 reviews Tue 11th Jul 06 “We’re gonna reclaim the glam rock title from Gary Glitter” states Delays front man Greg Gilbert. The Radio 1/NME stage is the perfect host for Delay’s summery afternoon set. Greg’s vocals are faultless and his brilliance as a performer and a lyricist is quite evidently one of the band’s strongest selling points. Delays are one of those bands that emerged surfing on a wave of hype and then gradually fell away as the music industry turned their attentions elsewhere. The second album wasn’t quite as well received as ‘Faded Seaside Glamour’ but is still great in its own right. There are traces of JJ72 and Easyworld in the band’s music and Gilbert certainly has the hallmarks of what made Mark Greaney and David Ford such good performers. They end with the electro overtones of past single ‘Valentine’. A great set from a band who are becoming more and more polished as time wares on. review by Scott Johnson
